Advent Blacksite Mission complete crash
So, twice now I've done the advent blacksite mission and twice now has it crashed upon completing it.

I get the mission succes screen and then it loads back to HQ and it crashes.

The game has been reinstalled since the first crash and I've only got 1 mod that affects the main questline, as in only the facilities can improve the avatar project, instead of random progress being made to it.

It definitely sounds like that mod is the culprit, as the main thing it changes is exactly the advent black site you have crashing. I don't know what to say but maybe look up discussions about that mod on nexus or something and see if others have that problem, maybe there's an update/hot fix patch or a simple Ini change that fixes it

I disabled the mod, though loaded the mission, not the hq, and still crashed.

Check your launch.log, maybe there's a hint in there. Although it's unlikely.

Probably your best bet is a binary search.

Yea, because the save is already corrupted by the mod. Do a new playthrough without the mod and see if it crashes again.

Agree with this^. While the problem was made by the mod, the problem itself took place in the save so getting rid of the mod would be very unlikely to get rid of the problem. It would simply, also hopefully, stop it from happening again in a new save.

I'll try a diffefent approach first. Do a different missiom before the blacksite mission, then do the blacksite and see if it still crashes.

If it doesnt. Then no need for new campaign.

Yea, mods change files in the game and they stay in the game even if you remove the mod. This problem comes up a lot on the Skyrim forum and some people dont like how that function as it can ruin hundreds of hours of play when they install a faulty mod.

Even after turning the mod off tge game told me I missed one

Hey I'm the creator of the mod, did you start a new campaign and verify that it's working as intended? I'm interested by this because the mod shouldn't alter any of the scripts that run after the mission is complete, it should only effect the removal of the blacksite counters. Just to confirm, this is happening with the very first blacksite that you're tasked to destroy? It's not something I've ever seen but I'm sure we can figure out why it's breaking.

It was a fresh campaign yeah and the blacksite where you get the vial with human dna. Havent tried any of the facilities.

The crash happens at the moment the news anchor/speaker should be having their little talk.

So if it's still crashing even without the mod the most likely thing is a problem with the base game files, have steam verify cache integrity and see if that fixes it, then try adding the mod back on top.

I had reinstalled the game and issue remained the same.

I'm sorry to hear that. You might try reaching out to the XCOM/2K support and seeing if there's anything they can do for you. I hope you can get it all sorted out! I'd love for you to be able to try the mod lol.
