Soldiers not healing ( --- days) [fixed]
So i just started playing XCOM 2 WotC. I didn't play vanilla XCOM 2, only XCOM EU/EW. In this game you could always see how long wounded soldiers need to recover. In my current playthrough i encounter a strange thing where i don't know if it's a bug or working as intended, namely the following:
Bug or not
As you can see, many soldiers only have --- days until they are back. Wtf does that mean? They never come back or what? I even build an infirmary because i thought maybe these are wounds which can be treated only with professional equipment, but fiddlesticks! No i wasted a building slot used way better other way.
Is this working as intended? How can i get my soldiers back to work? Any information on this subject would be nice. I got some mods running but nothing that alters the wounds mechanic in any way. If you still want to know them just tell me, i'll post a list then.

Greetings and thanks in advance

thats a display which shows up when they are about to come back within the hour.

infinite wound time is a thing that happens generally when the injury time is set too low with game edits.

Thanks for the info. I tried to work around that bug with the console command "HealAllSoldiers", but this does not work as it seems that they are not wounded anymore. It seems it is a bug that prevents healed soldiers to lose their wounded status somehow. Anyway, this is just some huge pile of bug ♥♥♥♥. It's not even a super rare bug or whatever when a f****** fourth of my roster suffers from thus bug. Is there any workaround for this? Is this caused by any mods (which i don't believe)?
Only "solution" i can see is to restart the campaign and check the wounded status after every f****** mission.
One could believe that for this money you get a finished product, or at least a bugfixed one so long after release.

Mods are as following:

SWR not created equal, hidden potential
Grimys loot mod
loot pinatas
mod everything reloaded
color coded bonds
lifetimestats
all soldiers gain xp
numeric health display
mod config menu
evac all
stop wasting my time
augmentations
vest slot
show gts class counts
communityhighlanders
cost based ability colors
smooth scrolling
more nations mod
commanders choice
no rank up throttling
blackmarket usage

As you can see these are quit a few, but none that alter the wounded mechanics in any way. Every help is appreciated. I don't want to start another playthrough when this bug constantly appears.

Augmentations mod requires a soldier to have a randomly chosen slot augmented every time they're critically wounded.

Dear Pootis Bird sir, much thanks for this information. It is as you said, the gravely wounded soldiers need augmentations. However, the not gravely wounded don't need any augmentations and still won't heal. I guess it's a mod conflict then so i'll try a playthrough without this mod and see if it sill occurs.

I just wanted to say sorry for my wrong blamings towards FIRAXIS as the failure is obviously made by the customer and not the programmers.

I'll update here as soon as i have results.

Update: This behaviour really stems from the mod "Augmentations". To prevent this, either uninstall the whole augmentations mod or follow these instructions if you still want the augmentations mod without it's "gravely wounded -> augmentation mandatory" mechanic:

1. Go to "...\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\268500\1293725945\Config"
2. Open "XComAugmentations.ini"
3. Change "bUseGravelyWoundedMechanic = true" to "bUseGravelyWoundedMechanic = false"
4. Save and exit

For this to take effect, you MUST start a new campaign (same for uninstalling), as existing campaigns are NOT affected. It seems to also fix the bug were not gravely wounded soldiers still don't recover.

Greetings and thanks to Pootis Hard for bringing me on the right trail.

I had this issue as well. What I did was revitalize the soilders with infirmary, ran a mission with them and then they went back to regular healing. Hope this helps someone :)

As you can use the infirmary only once per soldier per campaign, everybody must tell for themselves if it's worth it to keep their savegame. In addition, this does not prevent the bug from occuring again.

Update: Even with the "gravely wounded -> augmentation needed" mechanic turned off in the .ini file, you can still encounter this bug. You soldier will be wounded and not deployable, allthough in augmentations nothing states that an augmentation is needed. It looks like this.

Workaround: completely disable the "Augmentations Mod" and load a save where you are IN the mission where the injury occured. End the mission and you should see that the soldier is beeing wounded normally for xx days. Save, restart the game and enable the mod again. I can't say how this is affecting already augmented soldiers because in my campaign i am not progressed so far but it will surely come to no good. I disabled the mod completely for my playthrough before any irreversible damage gets done as I really don't want to corrupt my save or my soldiers beeing randomly put to a "quasi coma". Hope this helps.
Greetings.

Last Update: After talking with one of the mod authors, he was able to find the bug and fixed it. Still you have to redo the steps 1-4 after every mod update because they reset the .ini file. This thing should now be fixed for good.

Over and out.

I have seen this bug as well.

There is a companion mod on the workshop that lets you use a small amount of supplies to create a basic augmentation without needing the proving ground. So you can augment from day 1.

When a guy pops up as wounded, isnt receiving any healing and doesnt have any notification in the gui that he needs an augment I just randomly give them 1 of the basic ones. The GUI updates and after a few day of light healing they are good to go.
Gareque Mar 12, 2018 @ 3:36pm
This doesn't appear to be a bug, as I am getting this now for 2 soldiers.

When you select the soldier, there is a ! icon under augmentations, which on going in to this, indicates they 'require' an augment.

I have taken this to mean that the soldier is so badly injured that they cannot be simply given time to mend, but need arms replacing etc.

@Gareque after communicating with the mod author, the bug got fixed pretty fast. I already stated that in my last post. What you see is already the solution.
Greetings.

Honestly, I think it would add to realism if there were a mod where on rare occasions a soldier who was perhaps one hit point from death did have to permanently retire due to injuries.

Perhaps rather than be removed from game though they join the crew as staff and speed up all general build times a little.

Or join as a mentor or something, helping out with gaining experience for your other soldiers.

This problem is going from mod "augmentations" . Just open mod page and read https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1293725945&searchtext=Wound+Recalibration

New wound mechanic

Augmenting soldiers will reduce their healing time when they are wounded.

However when your soldier gets gravely wounded he gets assigned a body part randomly
which needs to be augmented in order to heal again at all.
E.g his legs are critically wounded beyond repair and need to be replaced.

How can I see if a soldier needs an Augmentation?

First, they will be listed as wounded, but don't have a number of days to heal
Second, when viewing them in the armory, the "Augments" button will have a yellow exclamation point.
Clicking it will open the Augments screen with a "Needs augmentation" text.

...

Hope it will help you.
