XCOM 2

So is this game ever going to be fixed ?
It's so incredibly bug-ridden. I haven't found too many recent threads and such about it so i'm assuming they are just leaving this a buggy mess. If that is so, i'm just going to drop the game.
Would be a shame, it's quite fun.

Images/soldiers getting stuck on-screen. Mission reward screens panning into the desert and crashing the game. Just to name a few of them. If there's a mod that fixes them, would be great, i haven't found any.

If you are talking WotC, then yes, possibly. If you are talking XCOM2 only, the answer is no, no more development on that frontier.
The under the Avenger bug is most likely related to a memory leak. You can increase your virtual memory to circumvent that. And don't play in huge sessions.
As for the rest, you have to be more specific on the issue.

Yes normal XCOM2. They literally appear at random intervals, wether it's after 2 hours or 5 minutes. Quitting and loading back in seems to reset them so it's somewhat manageable.
As for being specific, it's just alot of minor bugs.

Dropdown menues, continue buttons not working/appearing at all.
several keyboard commands during missions just not working (Camera movement, rotation etc),
UI bugs like images getting frozen onscreen and clipping into eachother.
Having 4 soldiers in 1 is funny once but not if it happens more then once.
There's many more i'd rather not list them all ...

Alright thanks for the info. I'll just finish it once and be done with it.

Are you using any mods? That seem like quite a lot of bugs your experiencing.
Krampus May 17, 2018 @ 6:39am
Nope. Just the normal game as it is.

You should try WotC, seriously, they fixed a lot and added even more nice stuff.

Hmm not sure whats going on with your game then. Base game has its share of bugs, but normally nowhere near that amount (in a single playthrough anyway).

Some of the things that you list (like images getting stuck on screen and clipping) are things I've never heard of before. Same with soldiers stuck in the same position.

Bugs in this game tend to be persistent. If something is bugged (like a unit without action points, or the game crashing) loading doesnt usually resolve it if you only reload the same turn.

Have you tried verifying the game installation?

I looked it up and it's a fun game but not worth the extra 40 bucks for me.

Incredibly bug_ridden is an exageration, imo, Krampus. I have hundred hours on Xcom2, Wotc and a bit of LW2. Crash game are very rare. The only real bug I experienced are ;

1 ) Be unable to pick up a soldiers body. Sometime He is not at the place he had to be, sometime you cant pick up it at all wherever you go. In the last case save the game and reload it, may be useless.

2) VIP stuck in solid thing such as furniture, preventing him to move... and to successfully achieve the mission. (This one may be due to add on)

3) sometime Grapple/hook can be difficult (or impossible) to use and you can reach the target area you wish.

Endless time at mission end when you are close to land on the Talion is a problem I had in the past, But no more for a while. I was something that happened on my previous computer, So the advice to check your config and especially virtual memory makes sense.

I never had any of those issues. My issues are exclusively in the avenger menu and voictory screens. Maybe they aren't even conventional bugs but if it's something else, then idk.
Bug-ridden isn't an exageration for me since i habe ro reload every like 5 minutes and pretty much before and aafter every mission.

The mod LOS Preview Ability can help: besides the LOS preview, it also adds the ability to highlight the tiles where you can reach a body from. And also preview the range of enemy movement. Really helpful mod.

They never fixed the multitude of bugs in XCOM1 either, so don't get your hopes up. And I can already predict, that they won't bother in XCOM3 either.
