What if it's discarded human from the black sites?!
I have no clue what it could be, anyone else got theories?

I actually think it's a genetically engineered meat product, like many others have suggested... but with a twist!
What if the ADVENT burger is something that the Elders designed to be tasty to all organic species? What if the mutons, vipers, faceless and sectoids were all given ADVENT burgers (with different names) and they all found it tasty enough to keep eating? Gives the Elders an instant loyalty hook for all their organic servants and gives them something to unify everyone. We all love ADVENT burgers! Sit down with a muton and enjoy a quiet meal! There's more that units us than divides us!

I am pretty sure elders tried to hide mutons, sectoids and snake ladies from general populus and not let them interact with civilians. Only now we see them patrolling the streets and for a good reason. Though maybe people are so used to seeing monsters wandering the streets that it explains why when a viper runs through a burger shop's window they just walk slowly away as to not get in its way instead of screaming for their threatened existence. Like probably non-chrysallids or berserkers shouldnt be slaughtering civilians for fun or because of instincs, waste of ammo and would quickly become a rebel creating machine.

That raises the question how do the elders feed their armies ? With actually recycled humans ? With normal synthetic meat like the populus ? Release them of the leash and let them hunt and devour animals in the wilds (or rebel ghettos ?). Like i guess releasing vipers to sewers to get their meal would make sense when you are cutting corners in your bloated budget, either they feast on rodents or rebels, so its a win-win either way.

Mind control in the series requires the presence of a controlling alien and would be too much work.

not sure why it would be mutons, might be similiar to muton meat, but I expect whatever it is, the aliens are making it on demand thru cloning vats.

it probably comes in the form of a cube.

They do probably take the dead human remains are put them thru a machine to get the matter to clone into advent burgers because they are likely made up of many of the same elements. but advent burgers aren't people. per se.

Feeding people to people would make people sick. what they do is they take various elements that go into food, and synthesize them. to get these elements you could take them from the bodies of people if you have them readily available.

...I mean you look at a regular burger its made of cow. cow got big eating grass. grass grows from nutrients in the soil.

which come from well ♥♥♥♥. also dead bodies.

so what the aliens probably do is they have a machine, they got some elerium to add power. they take some ♥♥♥♥. and put it in the machine (and also dead bodies) and out pops advent burgers.

same way a cow makes beef, but you know, in a machine.

I was thinking about the same thing but its highly possible that just like most organic substances, cooking them destroys their potency.
