Supply missions
The vanilla version of this mission I usually am able to take my time and not destroy any alloy/elerium, but good Lord with the crate popping version I'm lucky to get half of the crates out if I don't want to charge troops forward to get ambushed. What's your strategy? Perhaps they should only mark one crate at a time?

I think it's kinda rigged to not be able to sweep all the crates without going total ham-mode. The most I've ever managed to snag was half.

If I'd tried for more, I was definitely gonna trade some soldiers for them.

I'm doing that mission right now, unfortunately dealing with a crashing problem on completion.
But what I did was move everyone to an individual crate while concealed, and then on the next turn, mark the crates, called evac, and had everyone but my Reaper escape since marking doesn't cost an action.
After that, I had my Reaper re-conceal herself and maneuver around the searching pods and sneak back to evac.
Left about 3 behind in the process, but yeah.

I had the Chosen & Lost on a supply mission. I decided my upcoming vets were worth more so I ignored the supplies until the Chosen was dealt with.

I think the mission type is a trap to get you to rush, which can get you killed. Just take your time and pick up what you can, I don't think you're expected to get them all unless you're playing on rookie or have god mode soldiers. I just view it as "free mission, free xp, free supplies" and take what I can, without risking.

I think Ash is onto a good tactic. If you sent a bunch of Phantom rangers, with whatever Reapers you have to scout ahead, and maybe a sharpshooter or so, you could probably hit many of the crates before you've even engaged enemies.

I marked a crate and it revealed my reaper, cost me the soldier too. :(

Well i think the best thing to do is 1st to scout the locations of ADvents with your reaper if possible. Then engage and kill all of them asap while also taking any close crates thats marked by them. If you do it fast enough you can clear almost all advents and take your time taking the crates since the losts arent much oh a threat with a ranger(bladestorm) or a sharpshooter(unlimited pistol ammo) on your team,

Managed to get every single crate on a mission doing this though it can be a bit hectic XD especially if a chosen or a ruler decides to join the party.

Never do anything that might reveal the reaper she/he is too precious as a scout to waste doing any actions that might reveal them. Only take the chance if you REALLY have to as in saving someone or killing a priority target that must go down that turn.

Yeah, I marked it at the beginning of her turn, and then had her run as far away as she possibly could from the pods since she needed a turn cooldown to use the re-conceal ability.
She got hit by a Viper shot but no other enemies were close enough to get a hit in.

These missions are kinda wonky if you ask me. At the very least, the squad shouldn't lose concealment UNTIL Firebrand picks up the first crate/s you mark, if you ask me.

The supply missions are pretty stupid. Marking a crate reveals your party and more importantly Advent don't need to actually touch the crates to mark them, that's what makes the missions silly. I've had supply missions where I've killed all the Advent and I'm mopping up the last few lost but advent are still somehow magically marking crates miles away from my position.

If your lucky and the map has explosive targets, you can use a Reaper to inflict some damage/kill groups outright before revealing yourself. Advent doesnt mark crates untill the turn after you reveal.

Those missions are tough,
don't expect to get them all. Sucks with chosen and lost too

Yeah they should force Advent to touch the crates too

I hate those missions, too, myself! To wish to mark a crate you often need to dash like a kamikaze, don't see the enemies in the fog!
If some of you had found tips on those kind of mission, thank you to share!

Edit: i find that:

I hate this mission and I don't know what the developers are thinking how to do that, I don't see a way there. You are swarmed by the lost, have to beat the chosen, advent is also in there AND you have to collect boxes at the end of the map, that's a little bit to much.

Making a game hard is one thing, but give the players a chance.

Marking supplies is a pressure mechanic that is basically a gimmick to get you out of position and strung out. You don't need to rush and even a handful of rescued supplies gives you a reasonable amount of them. Take your time, make sure you set up the engagement you want on your terms when you pop concealment. You should be setting up the terms of engagement so that you can kill all the enemy forces within 6-8 turns or less. If you do that, you'll be guaranteed to get some supplies

When the missions have lost in them, basically I set up shop on a roof and kick back while I watch the lost and advent duke it out. I might use the reaper to blow up some cars to even the "odds" a bit by killing some advent but also spawning more swarms. Hopefully, you'll have significantly weakened the advent forces before you're ready to engage.

Usually I get half, maybe a bit more. Unless you are confident with rapid marking and exiting just take it slow and get what you can without forcing it.

Bonded soldiers and/or PSI operatives with inspire are not a must but help a lot in this particular mission.

1. Don't rush the supplies
2. Scout out the map to figure out where all the pods and boxes roughly are without breaking concealment. Do not take risky moves to scout, maintain distance. ADVENT will not start marking any boxes until you break concealment.
3. If you have a decently ranked reaper, use the reaper as the scout so you can actually mark each pod and know exactly where they are even after they reenter the fog of war.
4. If there are lost in the mission, summon some lost on the ADVENT/Aliens to weaken them.
5. Before revealing, try and think of possible ways to wipe out all enemies in just 2 turns. If you can do that, you can get all the boxes.

Strictly speaking, it's not always possible to get every single box without putting some of your soldiers at risk. But it's definitely possible to get most of the boxes if you simply focus on killing the enemies as opposed to focusing on getting boxes.

I've managed getting all the boxes only once, on a really good map that worked to my advantage. I've managed 11 multiple times, but they were all late game when I had access to fully bonded soldiers and abilities like Serial etc. On average, I get around 9 boxes.
