XCOM 2
Snipers suck in War of the Chosen.
There is simnply too much misisons that require hyper mobility and reapers are just better in every way. Sniper RIP class.

Snipers are super good against the lost. Not so much the rifle using kind but your pistol has infinite ammo so you can just keep blasting them until you run out of targets.

But every guy has infinite ammo if you keep chaining headshots...

No, not at all. You have infinite shots but as soon as you are out of ammo, you're done.

Sharpshooter's weapon damage is much better than Reaper. Reaper cannot replace sharpshooter.

You just need to position your sharpshooter for more accuracy and a scout to increase the line of sight of the sharpshooter.

W/ lost, sharpshooter is a beast if you got a resistance card or a better pistol.

Eh, Reapers can easily replace a Sharpshooters role since Sniper Rifles can only be fired on the first move. Gunslinger tho? Not so much. They are awesome in any map with lost. And they become pretty amazing if you get + pistol/weapon damage.

Meh, I've always had the meta of Sharpshooter+Adv Speed PCS and Spider/Wraith. Reapers can't match the sheer multi killing potential and sheer damage output of the sniper rifle. Gunslingers are also here to stay, because multiple accurate shots + debuff ammo + unlimited range secondary rifle= indispensably OP.

Weapon damage output of sharpshooter still better, sharpshooter role is much more an artillery and a damage dealer. I guess in normal and lower difficulty reaper could replaced sharpshooter but in commander and legendary meh.

Reaper's weapon damage is laughable, from what I remember Reaper's 1st tier weapon damage is 4-5. That weapon damage isn't enough to kill a higher difficulty alien except for 1st tier advent trooper.

Against the sniper chosen he just target locks the sniper every time and then I move him then he gets target lock ect. He is basically being juggled. I would much rather have reaper since she can move and shoot.

I had the Luck for Adv. Pistol Damage Reserch and Sniper Rifle.
And i use 4 Snipers in my Group.
You have to know how to use them thats all.

Reaper is more of a good sub for a stealth ranger than a sniper.

It's least to say there's always a soldier who is marked for death in xcom and the sharpshooter is most of the time given the lock-on because it most of the time is farthest away from another squadmember.

Reinforcements drops on sharpshooters even if the rest of the squad is occupied with wiping out advent on another side of a hill. You sometime wonder if advent wouldn't needed those reinforcements next to their own units instead of running around in circles trying to hunt the sharpshooter but this is only a way in attempt to balance the game because of how sharpshooters can sit in a location who makes them available to shoot every target in a flanked position.

It too makes a reason why to not have more than one sharpshooter because them will be follow John with the advent reinforcements.

Reapers ability to pretty much guarantee a flank cant be underestimated tho. Or her high hit % due to range. But even more importantly, the ability to hit from stealth and stay undetected.

I dunno much about the differences in difficulty level tho, since I've only played on one so far.

Reaper has around halve the damage output of a Sniper
But has Stealth, Claymore, Flanking as big Bonus.

Sniper have hughe Damage and Range. Specialy on Krits.
Gunslinger can shot 3 Times normal and 3 times on Target with a skill.

the point is not to Look on each class seperate.
Look at the combinition.

Reaper and Sniper
Reaper scouts and Sniper shot´s
you can kill big Packs without problem ( but needs time )
You can explode claymore over the hole Map or Target Mission Targets with sniper and Reaper

Use something ( grenade skill ) to destroy the cover and than enjoy a 16 Damage Sniper Krit Flank Shot.

Strong Pistol use Gunslinger
Use Free Fire of Pistol
After that use pistol shot without ending turn and use skill to Fire One Shot on every enemy in sight.

Reaper and Snipers are not really the same class though.
Most of Reapers abilities are meant for mid range combat.

Reaper is essentially a replacement for a Rifleman type unit.
Reapers are better off replacing rangers.

Reapers are inreplaceabel together with the training center. Later on, you can train them to unload their whole magazin in a single target - and if that dies, they automatically shot on the next target, as long as ammo is remaining.

Snipers have been my damagedealer in XCOM 2 vanilla, reapers completely replace them. The loss of a reaper is nearly death to me. xD
