Chosen Assassin is ridiculous
OK, I simply don't see what I'm supposed to be doing about the Assassin. I don't know if this is how it's supposed to work, but I ran into her almost immediately, well before I've managed to get my squad size up or get any gear of note. She appears from outside grenade range and gets shields if I miss her, then runs in a ridiculous distance, has half a soldiers HP in one blow, stealths, and moves out of spotting range again- and she's immune to Overwatch. Sure, if she's stupid enough to stop in range, as she did in the intro mission, you can get her with a grenade but 'hope the enemy is an imbecile' is not a strategy.

Am I missing something, because right now this is as much fun as lemon juice aftershave?

What are their disadvantages? Play on these.

She takes extra damage from grenades, and from Skirmishers. My Skirmisher has the skill to throw a grenade without ending his turn to support this.

It makes no difference, because she moves so far (and in stealth) she only ends up in grenade range if she's stupid. That's the problem.

Well let say mine is always in overwatch at the ends turn.
And my bonus is I get more damage on her after the 3rd attack.

Let say She Stinks majority with her super movement. especially in a packed and dense random huge City Blocks. But in the end well I just took the damage and wounded. and gotten her down.

It seems I am in badly need of a infirmary. cause every mission running into the Chosen is getting to be a pain.

split your squad, and make sure you have a gremlin healer
Halfinger Aug 29, 2017 @ 4:44pm
Bring a healer. She does not do that much at all after the first hit and her aim seems terrible. As you should have a much larger roster then the base game a couple of wounded soldiers should not be a major issue. Infirmary and, later on, fast heal on the map all help.

If you keep a close eye on her it is not usually that hard to know where she has moved.

Ah looks like the Chosen Weaknesses are generated randomly. Mine had weak to Reaper and High ground.

This is a really amazing weakness. I have it on Warlock. After the third hit you will do huge damage with everything.

As for tips on the Assassin. I kind of cheese her with a Frost Grenade, but what would work really well is a Reaper scouting. Her stealth seems to work similar to Conceal.

That's assuming Chosen strengths arent also generated randomly, as I've seen ''All-seeing'' on the Warlock, which counters Conceal.

you can find her in stealth,
take note of where the camera pans to as she runs away so you have an idea of where she is then try to flank this area so she get s revealed usually she woont have cover as she doesnt know shes spotted.

Your what is in Overwatch- your Skirmisher? Unless it's another random thing, in which case I have clearly gravely irritated RNGesus, she's immune to Overwatch, so it's useless against her.

I keep encountering her amongst tall buildings crawling with Lost- which she ignores and which ignore her for the most part. I generally know roughly where she goes, but I can't go after her since she's too far away and next turn she just hits and runs again.

for me the best way to kill her was sending 1 soldier after her and when he had visual let all the others close in and snipe her

Hehe .. It looks like the weakneses are random, which will make repeated playthroughs more fun.

I got immune to overwatch, weak to reaper and highground.
She ran in and melee/dazed 1 guy and then ran off to hide so I just ran up to her and shot her in the face twice and then she retreated.

Strengths seem to be fixed tho, based on info in this thread. Mine is immune to Overwatch as well.

In my encounter she took additional damage from reapers and attacks from elevations. She dazed one of my rookies then like a troll she hid under the bridge behind a car. One of my grunts splashed her and the car with a grenade. The skirmisher grappled to a terrace and peppered her and she tapped out.

Wait for a retaliation mission with the Warlock. Tip: don't bother using flashbang on him when he mindcontrols someone.:stress:

So far, I have only encountered the Assassin twice, included intro mission. Both times it ended the same: Assassin using explosive cover, claymore and weakness to explosives.:shen:

If you're talking about the first encounter I ended up getting incredibly lucky and dropping her in just 1 turn of her coming into contact with my squad as she ran behind a truck and I tossed two grenades and she was done for...Like many others have said, you just need to play their weaknesses.

Also, with Chosen showing up randomly on maps it is more important than ever that you spare your grenades and utility items. NEVER use these against the lost unless absolutely necessary, I learned that the hard way when I nearly lost an entire squad against the Warlock because I used up my utility items prior to contacting him...
