XCOM 2

How do I find out which mod causes the game to slow down?
So.. I'm running with lots of mods that suppose to behave nicely with each other. However when I've started a new game (with different mod configuration) the game runs at like 15 frames at the globe and in the combat stages (but not in the menus or inside the Avenger). How can I debug which mod causes this?
Now the game crushes at the title screen too with (GIsRunning == 1) after restarting the comuter.

When I opened the debug upon crush at visual studio it prometed:
Unhandled exception at 0x00007FF988664A30 (msvcr120.dll) in Xcom2.exe: Fatal program exit requested.

Id try reinstalling or repairing your dist. Visual C++ Redistributable Packages for Visual Studio 2013 should be in your game folder under redist

OK. File validation now downloading stuff so something definetly broke. I didn't think of repairing the C++ Redistributable since on my other computer that was never the issue. The laptop may really be something different ... :/

I had some trouble with lag after playing Long War 2 for a long time. Fixed it by deleting the config files

Turn off your mods one at a time until the game starts woirking properly. The last one you turned off is the one that was causing the problem. There is no quick or easy way to do this, it's a process of elimination.

Validating files will only fix problems with the base game files, it will not have any effect on mods you're using. So if validating fixes it, that's great, because it's working now, but it means the problem was nothing to do with mods.

Try the alternate mod launcher it detects conflicts aswell

Well, it's not completely fixed yet but the situation has improved by deleting the config folder, doing the file verification, unloading some voice packs, unloading character pools and their specific cosmetic items (specifically NCR troops and Halo troops), Second Wave Plus (I was sure it was designed for LW2 but it's not) and removing some of the command line launch arguments (debug mode and crash-dump probably had the largest hit on overall performance).

Also I've found out that in the loading order LW2 was way way way up so I set it to 0. I think I still have a few mods out of order but loading LW2 after the dependencies probably had the largest tole on stabilty and performance. Now everything loads much faster. No idea if it happened because of updating from 1.2 to 1.4. Maybe I accidently unsubscribed and immediately re-subscribed but my gut-feeling telling me it wouldn't change a thing but I may be wrong.

However globe is still 2 fps at most. I've come across this post:
https://www.reddit.com/r/Xcom/comments/4j4nt2/if_youre_having_the_slow_downsluggish_performance/
I'm going to test it now. I would never have guessed that Perfect Information and Cost Based Ability Colors would mess with the game outside the combat stage.

Still in my last try the combat was a little sluggish, I would have accepted it and run with it, but no way I would after it ran better before at higher graphic settings (currently at low).

General question: how costly at performance are voice packs on the game? I've read somewhere that a lot but I'm doubtful. When I preview in the customization I see there's a delay so all the voices are dynamically loaded so it's only matter of some memory space but not directly performance after being loaded. Super-huge ones like Llama Chomp and Wu Long may hit a little harder but still... seems neglectible to me...

After disabling both color abilities and perfect info the globe performance had gotten better but it's still underperforming.

Does anyone know of other mods that slow it down?

I've disabled all the mode and returned to completely mod-less vania. Everything runs smooth... except for the globe that while it's much much much much better it still stutter a bit. I do remember vaguely that the avenger flies slower at vanilla but I'm pretty sure that there's still FPS drop. Does it sound familiar to anyone?

If anyone still following and/or for future reference, I've found out something weird. After taking out all mods and run it I still had slow downs at the globe as I wrote before. Now I've restored LW2 and several other LW mods but no voice banks and no UI stuff except for better squad icon selector (and several squad icons) and LW2: ShowMeTheSkills Revived. Now the game runs much much much faster everywhere.

The only bug fixing mods installed are:
LW2 PsiOp BugFix
Ignore Missing Content

The only remarkable thing I did between the runs is to delete the config folder which shouldn't have change a thing unless the previous clean-up between my tries to make XCOM2 playable again didn't do the job.
