I NEED HELP (The Consequence DLC)

Can anybody help me ? I’m stuck in The Evil Within: The Consequence. I didn’t play the main game or the first dlc yet and I’m at the part where (MINOR SPOILER) you’re in the city, and there’s this guy that appears and shoots at you and you gotta shoot him. I loot the gun and the bullets but I can’t equip them. When I look at my inventory there’s no key assigned to each slots so I can’t take out my gun and all i can do... is wait... indefinitly. TIL I DIE. Help !

Try verifying your cache, it's probably a issue with your files.

Also, you can't assign like in main game, they're defaulted. 1 is flashlight/chem lights, 2 is for ONE bottle, 3 should be where your new gun should be. 4 is um for later. hit "v" to see if your carrying it, and hitting "c" after selecting a weapon allows you to holster it.

I originally was gifted the game on PS3, purchased it on PC after I finished it just because I wanted to play the DLC on a better system. It could be something like that and he doesn't feel like replaying the main game.

or he played the main game on xbox 360, the first dlc on ps3 and the second dlc on pc now. that makes more sense

That's because I already watched let's plays of the main game and The Assignment before playing the game. By the way I found the way to fix my problem, I simply needed to delete the changes I had made when assigning custom controls. I have now finished the DLC and started playing the main game, then I'll play the Assignment and hope I'll be finished before the Executioner coems out !

dont worry you will be through before executioner comes. i played through the assignment in 2 hours and then rushed through in 1 hour on kurayami difficulty
