Akumu mode?

Hi. I am just wondering..did you find a way to use your existing data of normal difficulty to do the akumu mode or must you really do it from scrach? The dlc's allow for bringing your stuff overs in new game + but i don't have the option for main game. Something i missed?

I think you have to do it from scratch.

In the maingame your unlocks are only available on the highest difficulty you have cleared. So yes you have to beat Akumu with nothing before you can use unlocks.

Oh that is annoying...in fact what annoys me is i'd have to do the game a 3rd time on normal cause i missed some stuff and secrets. Now akumu... I am not going to do this game 100% lol.

I'm in the same boat, any advice on getting past the chapter 6 where you get swarmed, but Joseph would rather sightsee than get those doors open? When Akumu said 1 hit kills I thought it was melee only but getting shot, failing a bomb disarm, heck even stepping on mouse traps kills now.

Really? Wow. I did not even attempt it yet. Sounds like a mountain of reasons for me to be mad as all hell lol

the gameplay for all difficulities are the same, normal, nightmare, akumu...
you got caught = dead
if you play it like the tutorial stage (sneaking part), then there should be no problem.
unlocks are useless too, since if you fire anything, all zombies would hear the sound and chase you all the way ( = dead anyway)


ps: tap button when caught by zombie....yea right lol

With the exception of sneaking, bad advice from someone who hasn't even beaten Akumu.

The difficulties are not the same at all. In fact Nightmare & Akumu completely rearrange the enemy placement, giving you harder enemies earlier on.

Certain unlocks are life savers in Akumu. Flash bolts & sprint duration come to mind.

Chapter 6 was the hardest section of Akumu for me. Flash bolts saved me during that disarming sequence. Shotgunning enemies and then burning them is a great tactic too. Just make sure you don't get hit by their wild flailing.

If you ever feel like giving up in Akumu I recommend watching this guy's videos. He beat Akumu mode with NO upgrades and NO use of keys.

I only have 3 of these and two lightning bolts, If I can get through this I'll be home free, Ive died 185 times, so assuming I make it my next attempt, I'll only let Joseph play on the guiletene 185 times.
