Evil Within or Resident evil?
Which one is a better game series? They are both created by developers that hates ordinary player and wanted to see them suffer, which is a good thing, i admire that. On the other hand, there are all niche genre games, but Resident evil sells better, why is that? So many questions, what do you think? (My opinion doesn't matter, just focus on expressing your own)

Not really a good answer, in fact one of the laziest one, like "Yes" "No" "Maybe" "Both" "I don't know" this kind of answers are not very appealing and just plain boring. I know you are from Greece, maybe in Greece that's the best and most informative answer you can give, but this is steam forums, most prestigious and intelligent place on planet Earth, we expect only the best from fellow steam users, remember that

Evil within 1 is harder than most RE games and ammo is even more rare.

However it is much less polished than RE games.

EW 2 is easier and more polished but also less unique compared to the first one.

No, i'm having an easy time with Evil Within, but i expected my ass to be tortured and nullified in a matter of seconds

Evil Within is not a hard game at all. Actually, I think most people are put off by it because the game is all over the place: some chapters, specifically the first two, feature stealth heavily, but after those you're thrown into RE4-lite. Some sections have almost no battles and plenty of ammo, while others are battle heavy (with no recourse for stealth) and have almost no ammo available.

Most of the problems with EW1 could be alleviated by simply letting the character carry more bullets, items and having him sprint for more than 2 seconds (before upgrades). Specially the ammo limit seems really arbitrary. I was playing very cautiously and still ran out of bullets during some battle-heavy sections, like the bus fight. Also, drops are way too random - you can break an entire room worth of boxes and only get two bottles of green gel, while other times you get so much rifle ammo that you don't even know what to do with it.

Also, instakills. A lot of them.
(The final boss is horrible too)

Stamina thing can be explained by protagonist's smoking habit, but it's still annoying as hell. As for stealth, whoever created this gaming mechanic that many games uses these days, should burn in hell for all eternity

Don't forget your elctro bolts, get as many enemies together as you can and stun them with this, then drop a match. Also, don't let those dynamite traps you disarm go to waste, lure an enemy to one and hit it with a thrown bottle and blow their sorry can't stand up to Ruvik arses away.

Just uninstalled, yes, that easy. Overrated games, never will play again, only at gun point

Sometimes I wish I was like this, then i wouldn't get so ticked with computer repair shops for giving me a bunch of ♥♥♥♥ instead of fixing it so i can get my fix, were I like you I could just swear off the hobby.

I think they are pretty different games despite being created by the same person and both being survival horror games. TEW story is more complex while OG RE is more like a generic action horror movie plot. TEW is more combat oriented, while in RE you can just avoid and run past the majority of enemies, only being forced to deal with bosses. I personally love both.

Glad I read this, no offense to Res Evil or other such classics, but generic story bores me. I actually had fun with EW's convuluted story, guess thats why I have 1000+ hourrs in it.

Yea I think people don't play RE games for the story. It's more about the atmosphere and being immersed in the survival horror setting. TEW's more complex story to me is just a plus and adding to the great gameplay and atmosphere/setting.

My fav EW moment was when i FINALLY convinced my best friend to get it, and the lucky ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ has teh fighting chance pack to boot, anyhow were on the phone and I'm watching him play through steam, and he is "now what do i do, I said well, you have to leave the room but you have to take care of something in there first, he was convinced you had tio knife the butcher in the back, 30+ times later and my barely being able to talk from wearing out my voice from laughing so hard, he finally realizes I was messing with him, he gets the keys, leaves, 45 more attempts he gets away from the butcher and gets the opening intro cutscene after Seb rides the elevator back up, best friend is all angry is this it? that all there is to this game? lol.
