The game often crashes in the Vatican location
When I walk around in the Vatican locations, the game crashes to the desktop every 10-30 minutes.
Any ideas how this can be fixed?

A lot of people have the same issue with even better specs. I was especially struggling when we was supposed to meet with Antonio, crashes every 2-5 minutes. In startup settings i added comands: +com_skipIntroVideo 1 -d3d11, in .exe i turned off fullscreen optimatization. After i entered Vatican crashes was only (:steamhappy:) every 10-20 minutes XD. Someone said that probably new nvidia drivers are ♥♥♥♥, so now i'm going to install older nvidia drivers.

Here's what I tried to do and none of the options worked for me:

1) I tried rolling back the Nvidia drivers to version 566.14
2) put “+com_skipIntroVideo 1 -d3d11” at startup
3) put at startup “+com_skipIntroVideo 1 -dx12”
4) Create a shortcut on the desktop and run with the settings “run as administrator” + “disable full-screen optimization”.
5) I even tried setting the screen resolution to 1920x1080, disabling Ray Tracing and lowering the graphics quality to medium and limiting the frame rate to 60fps

Yeah, i tried now with older drivers 566.14, and now is even worse than before. 2-3 minutes max and than crash. I think we need to wait for update, game and drivers. Shame, for now is better to get a refund, watch some gameplays, and buy again on sale.

The drivers update didn't help. But I've updated the gfx card BIOS for 4090. So far it's been more stable in Vatican
Please do it at your own risk as with any BIOS update!

I think I've found a solution to this problem. I rolled back the video card drivers to version 565.90 and within an hour the game stopped crashing.

Please escalate this to the NVIDIA devs.

same problem here. I tried rolling back driver and every other thing that has been suggested on the internet! can't get past this one level, crashes within a minute or two.

Try to roll back driver to 565.90 version and limit frame rate to 60fps, it helped me that way

I tired that didn't work but I found a solution that works for my computer. I updated my bios to latest on my MSI z690 MB. The bios had to do with micro coding on the CPU. I have a 13900K 3090ti and 64 GB ram. since then I played for two hours!

This is why you wait a month or so before buying any new game. Steam comment section performing PC gymnastics to get a game running correctly.

I think you Intel 13th gen guys are going to find that this is not the game but your cpu that's the problem. If you don't know about the Intel 13-14th gen problems with over-voltage damaging cpu's you need to look into it and rma your cpu's before time runs out. I did and my system is 100% stable now. Intels 'fix' is lowering voltage and performance , but for most the damage has already been done to their cpu's, RMA!!!!!!!

Same problem bossman. I have heard many different opinions and I believe its either vram, the game itself, or nvidia driver that was just released. Hoping to hear about a potential update or anything because I crash all the time too.
