Frame generation actual stutter fix
On 4080 with FG enabled I had stutter/framedrops every few seconds, with both HDR on and off

Looked into it a bit and turns out one of the day1 patches had changed the DLSS/streamline files, so tried downgrading them to the original day0 files instead.

With those it seemed to fix all the FG stutters for me, now plays HDR fine at 120FPS :D

Link: https://gofile.io/d/6LDT7O

Just extract the zip into your (game folder)/streamline/ folder, replacing the old ones (you can always verify game files to restore them)

All files here are signed with NV signature, so haven't been tampered with, you can check in file properties -> digital signatures.

Let us know if this helped!

EDIT: it also seems the NV driver optimizations aren't being applied on gamepass version, only the steam release.

This post says how to add them for the gamepass ID: https://forums.guru3d.com/threads/indiana-jones-and-the-great-circle.450911/page-28#post-6288550

(you can just save the text there as a .nip file and then import it with https://github.com/Orbmu2k/nvidiaProfileInspector/releases/tag/2.4.0.4 )

After that it seems all streamline/dlss versions work fine for me now, no frame spikes/stutters at all.

there's one thing I'm doing that's consistently working. I restart the PC and open the game first thing. then I load the save, change DLSS to TAA and then back like the pinned post says, and then also change from quality to balanced and back again. It works and fps goes back to normal. If it doesn't work first time, I make the DLSS change a few times and it works, FPS goes back to normal and no more drops to 1~2FPS

I've been playing for three days now and everytime I do this it works. I made a video to show it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8I1DaRwnqaw

I reverted back some changes. These DLLs are not supported by the game. These files lead me to the unplayable game, I've broken quest in the 2nd part of the game.

You can see at https://steamdb.info/depot/2677662/history/?changeid=M:4996889211935937815 that day1 update had replaced "Modified – streamline/nvngx_dlss.dll (-18.52 KiB)" along with the other streamline files, this zip just reverts that.

Strongly do not recommend copy such files into game folder!

Nvidia frame gen seems to be an issue on multiple titles, yet FSR works great in every game on all hardware. Maybe it's a skill diff?

Turning off low latency mode in the nvidia control panel also helped with stuttering.

yeah, I don't have those files anymore, but still had this issue. Only thing that seems to make it work was that on the video

Hm, maybe try going in NVCP > program settings, check "show only programs on this computer", then see if there's any indiana jones entries in the dropdown, you might be able to choose it and press Remove (there's a few there for me that don't seem removable though...)

Other than that you could try installing driver again and choose "clean install" to clear all settings, when I did the NV inspector thing it was right after a clean install at least:

I'm on GamePass and my previous post describes how I'm able to get the game to run smooth with frame gen & HDR. But it's annoying to have to do that, so I'm trying the suggestion from the link posted above. Problem: I copied and pasted from the guru3d forums into notepad and saved as a .nip file. I then tried to import it into NVIDIA Profile Inspector, but it says "Failed to import profile 'Indiana Jones and the Great Circle'-application 'bethesdasoftworks.projectrelic...' is already in use by profile. I've never used NVIDIA Profile Inspector so any help would be appreciated.

I'm having this same problem but this solution isn't working for me. I've gone to Nvidia Control Panek -> Program Settings -> Select Indiana Jones -> remove. The remove worked, but I'm still getting the "failed to import" error.

Nvidia tech is overhyped and ♥♥♥♥ that's why]

AMD tech actually works

I have an XTX & 4080 Super
I have had too many issues with game releases on Nvidia

Man just put the XTX in & happy days

Very true. I do hope FSR4 catches up visually though. XeSS looks much better.

Park here. Will test this soon and get back.

Edit: Doesn't work. I uninstalled this game because wasn't optimized very well.

This immediately fixed all the random issues I've been having since the last couple of patches. Thought I was going cray because it ran flawlessly on release. Literally GOATED fix

"Fake frames" is ♥♥♥♥ broke boys with no money say so that they feel good staying on their GTX1050. Apologize and I'll PayPal you money for a 4090 cause I know you want it. SIKE, SMD you PoS.

Gonna have to spend another $2k for a 5090 if you want more than 1x fake frames with Nvidia. FSR has been giving this out for free on all supported hardware for years.

On the spec sheet, it's another arbitrary software restriction for last gen (now 40-series) Nvidia GPUs. Pay up lil bro.

Fsr is a software solution…. Dlss is a hardware solution.

Hardware solutions are better than software solutions.

DLSS frame gen is software that runs on hardware restricted at a software level, the driver.

40-series owners are getting shafted just as hard as 30-series owners did when DLSS frame gen released. It's funny really.
