I noticed that they can't be killed.

It's a pet friendly game.

They can tear you to shreds, but you must be kind in return.

No, it is not woke because of this. It is simply idiotic.
It has nothing to do with lore. Indi take name after his own dog, not just some dog. If he can´t kill any dog because of this, it is sick, because it means he didn´t love enough his father and mother, because he can kill men and women.

It's a game based on a PG rated Hollywood film, they don't kill dogs in PG rated Hollywood films (with rare exceptions like Old Yeller, but that's because it's a life lesson type of film).

Dogs can't be killed, but if one hits them multiple times they get stunned. Which is literally the same effect as if one could kill them. There is a very BIG animal later on in the game which can be killed, fortunately!

Yes, as European I always consider your PG absurd. Hundreds of people can be killed like nothing, but swearing is big NO-NO. I never heard that dogs can´t be killed in PG movies.
I know it was cliche in movies that almost all dogs survived everything. But there weere movies, where they breake this cliche, like Jurassic Park 2.

You really shouldn't make assumptions. I'm not American just aware of the culture, the same way I am of other cultures that aren't my own.

Yes, many articles points towards Temple of doom (tear out heart) and Gremlins (explosion in microwave) that change PG. It is stupid and many movies and games suffer because of this. Most oscar winning movies (in times when Oscar means something) were R rated. Often it looks forcibly dull to be "for whole family" and it doesn´t fit with drama, or action movies.
And as I said. You can kill hundreds of people, but to show some wound in movie is bad. In games you can dismembered enemies but swearing is bad. Nudity also bad. There is much adult gamers. I don´t want sexual games, just normal adult thing where they are as R movies.

Except the game expects you to use a stealth mechanic and cracking a whip/shooting a gun is the opposite of that.
