Cutscene FPS Unlocker?
Has a mod been made or an ini edit etc. been uncovered that removes the 60fps cutscene cap (similar to, say, the files for Silent Hill 2 remake)? Can't stand it currently.

Not referring to the 60 fps cap in ALL of the game like some people are referring to. Apparently - I guess - cutscenes have been forced to 60 for everyone since the new update.

People usually jump on this pretty quick. Surprised it hasn't popped up yet.

The stupid thing is that you can't even reach 60fps without frame generation @ max. PT settings , who comes up with such nonsense???

Came here looking for the same question.

Getting 250+fps on the Gamepass version and then it awkwardly stutters down to 60 whenever I push a branch away or lift a log so far :reexcited:

Looking for same thing...

Yeah, it's nut we've seen nothing. Usually see these unlockers or fixes day one (discounting the fact this game was out early before its official release). I wonder if it's just that nobody has cared to try. I'd do it myself if I actually knew how to do it. Be it OCD or what, things like this are maddening to me,

Obviously you can use Lossless Scaling to get get the appearance of higher FPS cutscenes through motion interpolation but using LS the cutscenes are very jerky for me; often worse than the 60 fps capped cutscenes.

I spoke to the creator of the SIlent Hill 2 cutscene unlocker and they said they're not playing the game due to the mandatory RT. But as far as I know there's a bypass for that.

Can't believe there isn't a simple edit to fix this.

I think some of the scenes are actual video/bk2 files.. so I don't think it would be possible to change those

Cant believe that people have issue with 30 FPS in f.ing CUTSCENEs, that they cant play game like that and they need mod.
You dont have control of character or anything so who cares if its 10, 30, 60 or 1000 FPS
Do you also have issue watch movies because they run at 24 FPS?

Wow... you really have no idea what u are talking about Stj.Srex .
You must have a really crappy PC or are playing at a low Rez like 1080p.
If you have a display setting on 4k and are running 120+ smooth fps ,you would understand.
When it drops to 60fps the shutter is so bad that it will drive you crazy.
Movies are not the same as game cutscenes when it comes to FPS. :steamfacepalm:

Dude why it matters when you watch CUTSCENE, it doesnt have anything to do with gameplay. Resolution have nothing to do with Cutscenes and performance in them.
I guess you need to learn first what is Cutscene and what is Gameplay.

Apparently Stj is fine with the game constantly stuttering down from a smooth 165+fps to a jarring 60 time after time again.

Spoken like someone who hasn't actually played the game no doubt.
Can't imagine why anyone who has experienced this firsthand would be defending it.

Turn your monitor off and then back on while in game. Worked for me.

Lol, there's always one of these.

Stj.Srex, try to understand: yes - it's ok....YOU might have no issue with cutscenes playing at 30 fps or being locked at 60 fps. But for those playing at 100+ fps - and I'm echoing the sentiment already stated here - it is very jarring to suddenly go to 60 fps after playing at say...a consistent 114 FPS, just as an example. The movement is jittery and does not look smooth at all. For those that say that anything above 60 fps isn't noticeable (and they're out there), they'd have to be very visually imperceptive. There's DEFINITELY a difference.

So yeah, if you like 60 fps and you're playing on a 60hz display, ok, cool. Nothing wrong with that. There are plenty of us that like the look that higher framerates provide though. And prefer it in the cutscenes too; to be immersed you generally want those scenes to seamlessly match the gameplay.

And of course, as they've already said, movies are much different.
