Then this game is not for you, this ain't an interactive movie, you ain't seen one it seems. In here you can fight, block, parry, use a gun, whip around like a zombie "spiderman" in some sections, run/chase scenes, and loads of puzzles and walking around looking for stuff.
This is a first person action adventure game.
You probably don't know how to classify games, and stumbled upon a genre you've never touched.
Also these are games that you don't like even more so, but still ain't interactive movies 100%, Heavy Rain, Beyond Two Souls, Detroit Become Human, Until Dawn (alongside UD all the other horror games from the dev), telltale games, Don't Nod games (Life is Strange etc.) aka Adventure games with quick time events.
True interactive movie games were basically a thing since the beginning, mostly on dreamcast, and some of them are on steam.
You probably never played any adventure game from lucastart or whatever other adventure games or video adventure games (one example for the latter "Five Hearts Under One Roof", where you just watch videos and choose what to do).
Yeah, looking at the gameplay it seems like a first person adventure game.
Games have evolved, and not all of them are about nonstop action or traditional gameplay. There's room for different types of experiences, and some of these 'interactive movie' styles can be just as engaging as any classic game.
It’s okay if it’s not for you, but that doesn’t make it any less of a game for others.
The only evolution here are the graphics, otherwise gameplay mechanic wise there is nothing new here.
Non stop action and no action games (and many other genres) have been evolving side by side since the beginning.
Really? This is so much like a 3d version of the old LucasArts adventure game. This game is taking me back to the 90s when I first played games like Day of the Tentacle and Monkey Island. So much so that I doubt your statement of being an "old" gamer.
Like what? Nothing you do in the game is engaging.
AI is braindead and fights are equally braindead. They're easy and not engaging.
Stealth is as basic as possible.
The puzzles are easy and essentially just waste 5 minutes of your time.
I just can't understand why there are so many reviews that gush like this is the second coming of digital jesus when everything you do in the game simply isn't fun to do. You spend all of your time going from A to B, performing simple tasks, and any fights meant to spice things up actually don't.
What gameplay in here is actually fun?
You do not decide if others can't have fun with the game, when you can't have fun with the game.
Take your own advice, you don't like the post, don't bother. Steam discussions is for discussions and I asked a user a question. I'm not going around forcibly shutting down people's steam wallets. I'm not "deciding" other people can't have fun. Your reading comprehension is absolutely garbage.
Pong is boring. It's the most rudimental game ever. Someone CAN have fun with Pong, but that tells me more about them than it does about the game. This game has nothing complex, challenging, interesting or fun about it, and so my question was how exactly do you extract entertainment out of a product so mindlessly dull, braindead and uninteresting? Where exactly is the "fun" coming from?
