If you change hdr settings in game it will break frame gen, you just need to then restart the game with HDR enabled and it will work again.
Now I have to go and upgrade all my games to the latest DLSS and Frame Generation DLLs .....
They don't come with the drivers but the best place to get them is here. All you have to do to upgrade all your games that use DLSS and/or Frame Generation is copy the new DLL into the game directory and instant upgrade.
Latest DLSS DLL - https://www.techpowerup.com/download/nvidia-dlss-dll/
Latest Frame Generation DLL - https://www.techpowerup.com/download/nvidia-dlss-3-frame-generation-dll/
You want this:
https://www.techpowerup.com/download/nvidia-dlss-dll/
Also this:
https://www.techpowerup.com/download/nvidia-dlss-3-frame-generation-dll/
Get the latest version of both.
The files you want to replace are in the steamline folder, back them up first just in case.
Edit:
Beat me to it lol
replaced DLL file to version 3.8.1 that was released on 12/7/24
Moved settings to "Very Ultra" or whatever
Turned on FG
FPS dropped to 2FPS (!!!)
Did the "TAA / DLSS" toggle and now its in the mid 70's FPS range at the start of the level in Antonio's office
Very Ultra
4K DLSS PERF
4080 RTX
9800x3D
THANK YOU!!!!! JOHNNIUS
No worries, glad it has also worked for you. Have fun!
Thank you mate. That works for me. 95% of the tipps in forums don't work. This one did.
Awesome, not sure why they didn't include the latest dll given it seems to be the fix, my only guess is they have only tested an older version and just shipped that.
Enjoy
