It sure is! Know what's funny though? Don't tell anyone, but... this game isn't woke! Which means that people who keep talking about it look really foolish, especially when they pretend to have played it but actually haven't! I know, super funny, right?
All funding for DEI programs came to a screeching halt recently, so all that easy investor money studios were getting to include woke garbage is gone baby!
Now studios will have to get their money the old fashion way... work for it! :D
Exactly right! Isn't it funny, though, how absolutely none of that applies to this game whatsoever? :D
That's, of course, completely besides the point that this particular game isn't "woke" and never was.
There's more than enough taunting to go around on this cesspool of a forum, from all sides. The fact remains, however, that there's a handful of people who bought into the whole "this game is woke" thing whole hog, made a lot of noise about it without playing so much as a second of the game themselves, felt extremely foolish when that was shown to be completely false, and now spend an inordinate amount of time making redundant posts about wokeism in general in a desperate attempt to cover up the fact that they ended up with a metric sh!t-ton of egg on their faces. The worst part is that they have no intention of even trying to act like adults and have good-faith, honest conversations, preferring instead to act like petulant children. It's really sad.
Welcome to the internet, my friend.
I know. It just sucks that some people get off on acting like idiots. I've always been a champion of open and honest dialogue because I believe the powers that be want to keep us divided, and force feed us a constant narrative (left AND right) that perpetuates that goal, and sadly, it works - all you have to do is look at these boards. People thrive on conflict, and that's exactly what the politicians, governments and the people behind them want. You're right though; it is what it is and it's not going to change.
I feel like the best place for someone to start having honest conversations, is to recognise their own biases, and to recognise them AS biases. We've all got them. More people started doing that, then maybe we can get to a point where we can see more civilised conversations.
That's an excellent point. Most people come into these things with a very "us vs them" mentality, which ultimately is very counterproductive - and not only that, they assume that their side is 100% in the right.
The truth is that both sides of any given argument (well, most arguments, anyway) have valid points, and as I've said many times on here, if people would only approach these things with a modicum of self-awareness then they'd realize that there's far more common ground than they thought.
Politics suck. There's not a single politician out there, on either side of the aisle, that has our best interests at heart. And yet people insist on willingly subjecting themselves to sycophantic partisanship at the expense of their own individuality. It's made worse by people going out of their way to troll and wreak havoc as we've seen here. I know they think they're just having a laugh, but at the end of the day they're perpetuating a cycle of division which plays directly into the hands of the shadowy people whose primary goal is to keep us divided for their own profit.
