What is part of the story?

I wanna buy the game but Im kinda confused what exactly is the story. I have seen on youtube some parts that compare the game to movie frame by frame but from the trailer is seems like it has its own unique story not seen in the movies.

So what is it exactly - without spoilers pelase. Is it movies but in game format? Is it a new story? Is it a bit of both?

Without knowing, going by the title and the artwork I have seen it's based on how ancient sites line up all over the world (is a real theory, very interesting, loads of info on YT on that).

They probably watched a lot of videos and wanted to turn it into an adventure.
Not a bad choice. It's a pretty cool real life mystery.

Bit of both.

For example, they steal the giant boulder rolling scene from the film, while stealing the treasure the exact same way.

With loads of cut scenes.

Obviously, most of the game is a new story but it does steal from the films.

It's not stealing, it's an homage to honor the first movie while setting up the mood perfectly.
I think it's a truly great idea.

Well you don’t want spoilers, so the best I can say is the main evil character is very very very German. You also have a very annoying un historical side kick that is very insufferable.
