Is it just me or does the graphics quality look 10 years old?
I like the game. Fun running around like Indy, but but but.
Why cant i see anyone mentioning how bad the overall graphics quality is ?
Im playing in 1440p.

The bushes and the trees in the vatican looks so bad, like the game is 10 years old.
It doesnt ruin the game, but sometimes I stop and look, at how bad the quality is.

Is it just me?

Im running 7800x3d with 3080 TI in 1440p.
Around 80-100 fps with everything maxed out except Texture Pool Size.

They had to downgrade graphics because they implemented raytraced GI, for example their 5 years old game Wolfenstein Youngblood looks and run MUCH better.

Deminshing returns past PS 4 None-pro, mate. Can`t make Graphics more Photo-realistic past Photo-realism, duh.
That sucks.
Im still playing RDR2 often, and its sad to see an 2018 massive open world game got much much better graphics and details overall.

Indy is still a fun game though :)

It does look awful. The animations as well; it has been a while since I have seen such poor, doll-like character animation on a would be high end title.

I like the overall looks, clearly not 10 years old. ;) however, the animations for npc companions are debatable.

With path tracing it looks gorgeous accept that there is some LOD popin that can be a bit aggressive.
But other than that there is almost nothing bad about the gfx.
I can barely distinguish some scenes from reality due to the perfect lighting and shadowing.

It’s one of those things where the cut-scenes look amazing, even though they are in-engine, but gameplay looks much worse. I wish there was a way to keep the cutscene quality on at all times… especially characters faces.

I think theres nothing wrong wrong with the animations, but its far too obvious, how npcs get teleportet in order to catch up with you at times.

People need glasses if they say this looks bad.

Use the performance metrics and check what resolution scaling is used.
I imagine dlss is being used to achieve 80-100fps at max settings with a 3080ti.

I wear glasses and I don't think it looks bad.

I just don't think it looks so amazing that my 4090 should need DLSS and FG to get over 60 fps maxed out in 4k.

There are games that look a lot better and don't have to be played w/DLSS-balanced to get 40 fps with RT/PT in 4k.

With texture pool setting being the most important factor for textures you need to have it set at supreme or your won't get the maximum quality. I can use supreme with my 3090 at 4k, what's stopping you at 1440p? Not using Pathtracing.

Finally!!!

Someone gets it. The game looks good, but I do not see how it warrants such massive system requirements.

I play with everything maxed at 4k. The game looks great but I am not amazed.

Only the path tracing requires OTT specs then agreed it doesn't justify them but without it it's not that demanding.

So I saw a comparison video for the Raiders recreation showing the film and the game. The facial animation even in modern games STILL cannot match the movie. By 2024 the graphical technology should be able to do this. As a result the movie still has more expression and energy than the game which is recreating this scene.
