Indiana Jones and the great Circle "failed to save game"

I keep getting the failed to save game error when I try to play this game. does anyone have any fixes for this?

I played 13 hours and now my savegame is gone with the error "failed to save game".
What the ****!?

I have not been able to find a solution myself so I contacted the Bethesda support. Now waiting to see what they can do :(

So to update anyone else still having this issue I spoke with bethesda support but they were of no help. They just pointed out that my CPU was slightly under par (however others with my same set up have no issues running the game) and said I should upgrade. When I asked just for a solution they refused to give me one and told me to come back when I upgraded.

I'm playing through game pass, so this could be not relevant to Steam users.

I had the same problem and I was terrified. I went to main menu and save was flagged as corrupted and unable to be rolled back even.
Luckily for me restarting the game helped. Everything was back to normal. And because I did not play after getting save game error message I've lost only few minutes of progress.

Only thing I've changed on my PC before error was my Firewall settings. I use Tiny Wall and changed settings from autolearn to normal. Maybe that was the cause? After reverting back to autolearn and restarting the game like I've mentioned everything works fine.

Of course afther that I've manually backuped my save.
You can find your save on game pass here:

C > Users > your username > Saved Games > MachineGames > The Great Circle > base

And on Steam here:

C > Program Files (x86) > Steam > userdata > your Steam ID > 2677660 > remote

I had this issue on the Xbox Game Pass version; I read that you had to log out of the Xbox App, and log back in. So I did that, and it fixed the "failed to save game" error for me.

(The post I found also said they logged out of their Microsoft Account on a browser but I didn't do that.)
