DLSS FPS Drop Workaround
UPDATE 12/12/24: The dev team is working to deploy a fix for this issue next week. Thank you for your patience!

--

If you're encountering an FPS drop when playing Indiana Jones and the Great Circle with DLSS enabled, please try the following steps:

  • Select Graphics Options.
  • Switch from DLSS to TAA.
  • Switch back to DLSS.
  • Exit the menu. FPS will return to normal shortly after.

Since the big potrion of the players is on Game Pass, can you drop a hint on when it's gonna get updated? At least for hdr and framegen to work correctly

This is why lossless scaling app is a good tool to have. If the in-game dlss/frame gen doesnt work I can just use that instead. Exspecially on my 3080 where frame gen is greyed out, can atleast use that in the app.

Switching to TAA then back to DLSS fix the Stutter. But degrades Texture quality on a lots of objects and models to extreme low.

I got the CDK from NVIDIA in advance, but I didn't get the pre-order bonus。《Indiana Jones and the Great Circle: The Last Crusade Pack》
I am very distressed now and hope to join it.:thunder_heart::thunder_heart::thunder_heart:

For me, the game crashes to desktop when changing DLSS to TAA.
It also crashes when setting Quality setting to "ultra performance".
I have a RTX 4070 and the latest driver.

Fun part is the game was supersmooth with excellent performance in the early release 3 days. Then yesterday it all went to hell. Not only the gfx but now 2 of my main quests are bugged telling me i do NOT have the needed items to progress and i know i had them in the inventory and my journal says i picked em up but they are now gone and i have no idea how to fix it.

It's not the framegen to be broken, but the nvidia Reflex!
It came to my mind to use the Special K program, disabled the nvidia reflex, and BOOM!
It solved the problem! Give it a try and let me know!
Ok, but there's some of us that don't even have that enabled in NVidia Control Panel and still happening. I assume Reflex is same as Low Latency Mode? If not, I didn't even see where NVidia Reflex was an option in the game to enable or is the game force enabled it behind the scenes? Also, I don't believe Special K works with Game Pass installed games.

remove the fps lock from the cutscenes. going from 130 to 60 every few minutes is jarring

The cutscenes were completely broken before 60fps lock

Found a better fix than this if you want to know it and maybe you could change some settings from it in the next update.

All i did was update both dlss and dlssg .dll's. used nvidia profile inspector and did the following : forced V-Sync ON, Re-bar ON and changed shader cache from "4gb" to "10gb."

All settings are fully maxed, DLSS: Quality, Frame Gen: ON. Capped my FPS to 100fps. 4k settings also!

Works flawlessly and high frame rate.

Rolling back my driver from the 12/5 update to a previous version solved all this mess for me. 4090/ 14700K

I noticed the frame generation stops working if I alt tab to desktop, I need to quite the game and start it up again in order to work.

I think they may have fixed this on game pass version. I just loaded the game up for a second today and the main menu fps didn't tank for the first time and instead stayed high. Yesterday it was consistently ~6fps every time I restarted. But today I didn't have to do the DLSS to TAA switching. The game stayed consistently high above 60fps from main menu into gameplay so I think DLSS is finally sticking. I made no other changes and am on 8gb 4070 laptop with latest 566.36 driver. Weird thing is I can't find any information about a new patch release Nevermind, not fixed; the DLSS fps problem has recurred again- 12/11

Here's a personal annectode of me trying to fix STUTTERING:

1440p 165hz MSI monitor
3080ti (12gb)
5800x3d
32gb ram
Samsung 980 Pro NVME SSD
1200w psu etc

What I found was that enabling DLSS would skyrocket my CPU to 100% usage and pegged it there constantly. This would cause stuttering and framerate instability.

By using DLSS swapper and using the latest DLL, this fixed whatever was causing this 100% cpu usage.

Hopefully this helps someone

I swapped DLSS rigth from teh start as I do that always. But the fps drop is still there. Basically I can only play smooth on DLSS Ultra performacne in 4K. As soon as I switch to DLSS Performance, fps dive to 4.
