there are tons of possibile issues with a specific game caused by bad maintenance or cheap and/or incompatible hardware, interfearing software, drive failures, transmission errors, damaged files, etc... but there is only ONE possibility it could be caused by the game... a bug and then everyone would have the same bug because then and only then it would be caused by the games code and because of the fact everyone has the same code, everyone would have the same issue. but the game is working like a charm. better than nearly any other game except for doom eternal so if the code is working but only a few ppl has some issues, than its their system and not the code... its like we refueling two identical cars at the same gas station with the same fuel but suddenly your car is overheating but mine still works flawless, what do you think could have caused it? a productionfailure of the engine? no, you just didnt maintain your car well and havent refilled the oil so it was overheating... you dont even need to be smart to understand this fact
I didnt mess with HDR (left it on)
I did lower a few texture/shadow settings to squeeze out additional Frames
Left on full RT
9800x3D, RTX 4080 running at around 60-75 FPS with no FG, and DLSS Performance in 4K
Not ideal, would rather FG worked so I can max out settings, but its playable for now.
Happens with the Steam version for me. Only with Frame Generation. DLSS Upscaling is fine.
A DLSS FPS drop is a noticeable problem, and workarounds like this, while helpful in the short term, aren't a substitute for proper optimization and bug fixes from developers. Hopefully, you will release a patch soon to address this so us players can enjoy the game as intended without fiddling with settings mid-session.
It's in "%USERPROFILE%\Saved Games\MachineGames\TheGreatCircle\base\", for LODSCALE, open the game console by pressing the tilde ~ key and type these values
If this setting is set too high and lacks VRAM, the game may even fail to start, and manually tweaking it via the game’s configuration file gives you more room for adjustment depending on your graphics card's VRAM, the Steam version of the game also forces HQ texture pack regardless of the texture pool size used, they should give a option to choose use it or not like the Xbox Game Pass version does.
You want this:

Also this:

Replaced NVidia DLSS and FG DLL file to version 3.8.1 that was released on 12/7/24
- Moved settings to "Very Ultra" or whatever
- Turned on FG
- FPS dropped to 2FPS (!!!)
- Did the "TAA / DLSS" toggle and now its in the mid 70's FPS range at the start of the level in Antonio's office
My specs:
Very Ultra
4K DLSS PERF
4080 RTX
9800x3D
Mind you, I'm still getting like 80-90fps using cinematic widescreen 21:9 at DLSS Quality with NO FG, Full RT, Supreme Settings. Game is optimized really well.
