Revisit question? Accidently advanced and want to go back

I accidentally advanced to the Himalayas before doing hardly anything at Gizeh. I want to go back and get the skill books etc. But when I go to "continue story" again, which version of my char will get loaded. The one before I "revisited" or the one with the new skills?

You don't lose any skills when you revisit.

Thanks, but, I didn't really explain myself very well. I want to go back and "level up" and then restart Nepal with that character rather than the one I accidentally advanced with. Are you saying that is what will happen?

Just be sure that before you resume your adventure after going back for collecting that you activate a checkpoint save. A good way to be sure that happens is to head for the bluish icon on the map . Otherwise, it might not save the last few collectibles you went back for. I learned this the hard way.
