Game Hitches Every Few Seconds
The first time I booted the game, I feel like the game ran without issue, but I only had it on for a few minutes before I got pulled away. Every time I play since then, the game stutters every few seconds (similar feel to Unreal traversal loading stutters - locking for a split second then resuming fluidly), whether I'm just panning the camera in circles or traversing, I'm using DLSS, frame gen on or off, low or supreme settings.

I'm running on Windows 11 with a 4090 with a 11900k, installed on Samsung 990 Pro, with 64GB of DDR4; a rig that runs most everything without issue. Not really sure what's happening here.

Seems to have something to do with DLSS. If I turn DLSS completely off, and use TAA and dynamic resolution, the issue mostly disappears - there are still minor blips more often than I'd like to see, but much better than with DLSS.

I have the same specs as you except with an i9 13900 and I have had the same experience, DLSS causes small stutters when turning the camera which is mostly alleviated when it's off and other TAA is used instead. I have exactly the same issue with Star Wars Outlaws. It seems to be DLSS causes tiny stutters every now and then in most games. It's barely perceptible I know, but when you are at stable high framerates (I'm locked at 100fps) it really sticks out!

Oddly enough it's just this title for me; Outlaws runs without issue. Did it just start for you with this Dec 5th driver update? The hitches i see in this game aren't tiny, they're straight up almost a second ;(

This game is weird. On my RX 7600, I was getting 40 fps on medium preset when I should have been getting around 80 fps. A lot of people complaining about AMD cards in this game are probably suffering from the same bug. The game currently only works on the newest GPU AMD/Nvidia driver, but only if you used DDU tool before updating your driver. Use DDU and then install the latest Nvidia Driver to fix the issue. Also, make sure your GPU driver doesn't crash mid way through the game. It results in 2 fps until you reinstall the GPU driver. No Idea why this is happening only in this game. My game was literally a stutter mess in Giza until I used DDU

I'm having a similar issue but narrowed it down specifically to Frame Generation for me. I have a 13900K and a 4090 (with latest drivers for the game release) - the second I turn on Frame Generation everything *seems* fine but there's a full half second or more hitch every few seconds (even while navigating the menus) - issue goes away if I disable Frame Generation. DLSS isn't perfect either - very very shimmery pieces of paper/certain textures even on quality.

I get this with FrameGen too, perfectly smooth, but a massive stutter/hitch every couple of seconds. Completely goes away when disabled. It's pretty annoying but the input lag seems a bit worse with FrameGen in this title than others, so unless they introduce Nvidia Reflex I don't think I'll use it even if it's fixed.

EDIT: Just downloaded the latest game update and it seems the stuttering issue with frame gen has been resolved! The input lag is still terrible, but ah well! Also, raytracing is beautiful :)

Srry but an i9 11900k paired with a 4090? Are u insane? Massive bottleneck you have there pal... Change your cpu if you want more frames...

It was caused by a bug with HDR and frame gen; haven't had the issue anymore. Actually the CPU hasn't appeared to be a bottleneck for me yet, but I'll likely upgrade in the not too distant future.
