Lowering Graphics Before Loading Game

Is there any way for me to go into the files, to change my graphics settings before loading the game up? My game keeps crashing before main menu, so I wonder if I can lower the settings if it will fix it, thanks!

I'm also looking for an answer to this, I stupidly wanted to test the settings, and increased them all. The game crashed and would not open. Now after reinstalling and deleting settings files, the game wont start up past the boot logos. Weirdly the first time boot up after fresh install I get to lucasfilm games logo, but then the game closes and cant get past any further.

I keep being advised to start the game in safe mode, but I'm not convinced this is doing what it says it is.

you can launch the game in safe mode through steam and that will reset your settings to default. steam should ask you when you launch the game which mode to launch in. if steam doesn't ask you, right click the game in your library and go to properties. the option should be in there.

C:\Users\*username*\Saved Games\MachineGames\TheGreatCircle\base\TheGreatCircleConfig.local
