How's the 3080 performance?
Like many people, I'm still using the good old RTX 3080. I also still have just 16 gigs of RAM, which concerns me since 32 is listed as the recommended.

For those of you 3080 owners who are also still rocking 16 GB of RAM, how has the performance been?

I still play at 1080p, so I guess I at least have that going for me. These insane system requirements definitely have me spooked, though. I'm hoping to at least average 65-70 FPS with Medium settings!

My 3080 Ti doesn’t run warm. You should consider cleaning the cheetoh dust from the fan blades and heat sinks.
No need to be rude, warm doesn't mean overheat. Think before you speak, you may make yourself look foolish. Also learn reading comprehension, I said "had a 3080Ti". Look at my profile if you want to feel bad about your PC.

I play in a i7-14700, 32GB DDR4 and RTX 3080 10GB with everything on Ultra/Supreme, medium texture size and 21:9@1080 resolution. It does not go below 100fps with DLSS quality.

This is why I keep bringing up optimization.

Gamers with the same hardware are not doing fine, and there's only one reason.

Its fine, the thing that hits the hardest really is how much VRAM you have. RTX 3080's come in a 10GB and 12GB model. I have the 10GB model, and high texture pool with maxed settings, medium/low hair on 1080p DLAA is buttery smooth. But at 1440P I have to bump down the texture pool to medium. 12GB models can play it on high or ultra texture cache just fine.

Yeah, I've been surprised at just how good the performance is overall. You can basically max the game out and just lower the Texture Pool setting and get great performance all the time. I did not expect the game to run as well as it does, but perhaps I should've had higher expectations since it's more or less using the same ridiculously optimized engine as Doom Eternal!

Thats just not true..

my current settings:

Screen Resolution: 2560x1440
GIGA (max) Preset with Texture and Shadow Quality droped down to "high".
Framerate cap @63
DLSS Mode set to DLAA.

I don't have any framedrops except for cutscenes, they run @60 by design.
game runs perfectly fine.

my gear: rtx 3080 (10gb), ryzen 7800x3d, 64 gb ddr5 6000 ram, samsung 990pro nvme.

On my 3080, I get silky smooth 100fps with path tracing off, all other options at max, and DLSS set to Quality.

Anyway like I said, the card is solid and the recommended specs for this game calls for a 3080. So my post was spot on and very informative, while yours was not.

They asked about how this game would perform with a 3080 and you said you hadn't tried it, yet. Your response was irrefutably 100% unhelpful, uninformative, and useless. "The 3080 is good" isn't new information to literally anyone.

And no, it doesn't perform that great with this game. I have the 10GB VRAM 3080 and it has some serious performance issues running this particular game in 2k.

You did a bad job. Do better next time.

I've got 64 GB of RAM with my 3080 with a cap at 120fps at 1440p. Currently at Giza, and my performance is somewhere around 50fps on High settings. Not terrible.

And yet when one reads through the replies they all confirm what I said, the 3080 is a great card, the real problem is lack of optimization by the Devs.

You did a bad job, do better next time.

Such blatant misinformation…

The 3080 runs this card just fine…

Optimisation is also just fine, maybe actually play the game first before talking about it.

Even more misinformation.

Some of the posts in this thread are from people expecting better performance at higher settings that they simply shouldn’t be able to run.

And some of the posts here actually prove me right. So, stop lying perhaps?

Like i said, play the game, or at least inform yourself better, then talk.

You have done nothing but talk about things you know nothing about in every post

I use RTX 3080 woth 32gb RAM and 5900x. Until late game jungle level game was rocking at 3440 x 1440p, medium to high (with most srt st high). DLSS quality. Yes it is running good, even with occasional fps dips to 50s - 60s in late jungle level. The rest is 80- 120 fps. I was scared that I wont be able to run this game but I can hehhehe.
