Possible Black Screen Fix

In another thread, someone suggested lowing the "Texture Pool Size Setting." Well, I can't get to the settings because I get a black screen the splash logos. So, I went looking for config files and found this "TheGreatCircleConfig.local" found here:

C:\Users\<yourname>\Saved Games\MachineGames\TheGreatCircle\base

After deleting that file, the game regenerates it upon launch with default settings. That seemed to work for me. I went in and made sure to lower the "texture pool size setting" to medium and am ok so far. But I haven't spent much time at all. I just launched and relaunched the game multiple times, haven't really played yet. This setting can also be put into that config file, but I wasn't sure what value to input. What's weird is that the setting that gave me the black screen, the pool size was set to high, and the value is in that file as:

is_poolSize "3584"

After setting it to medium, that value isn't listed in my new file. There's no entry at all. Otherwise, I'd list the number that worked for me and I expect you could just enter that there instead of deleting the file and stuff. Worth a shot for anyone who can't play the game right now.

I deleted the file and now the game just crashes at launch, already tried to reinstall, the game is not generating the folder nor the file.

I just set it to 900 and now game works!!!

I also have a black screen when starting the game...

I already deleted the folders that are in %USER PROFILE%\Saved Games\MachineGames\TheGreatCircle\base\ and it didn't help

I think deleting the settings folders might help, but where is it?

YOU JUST GO TO %SystemDrive%\Users\Public\Documents\Steam\ AND DELETE THE "RUNE" FOLDER

The only solution that worked for me. You only have to delete the 2677660 folder inside of RUNE though

Worked for me, but I also had to get rid of the +com_skipIntroVideo 1 command in the shorcut, thanks.

cant change texture pool from low to any other option , medium or above cuz a blackscreen with build shader pipeline 100% and its stuck .

Didn't work for me. Setting "Texture Pool Size" to low and using the latest patch still either returns a blank screen where the menu is supposed to be, or the message "Compiling Shaders Pipeline" being stuck at 100%
