“Visually impressive” is not directly tied to performance
Very much true.
I was playing Avatar Frontiers of Pandora and Horizon Forbidden West at about the same time, alternatingly. While HFW has insanely lush graphics with a ton of nice fidelity and really well-crafted graphics, it just pales in comparison to Avatar's first and third area in particular when it comes to visually WOWing the player.
This is proof that RTX isn't mandatory technically for this game. It never was anything but just another scam move from Bethesda and Nvidia, as the game was given for free with their cards.
In a few month, if there is still interest for this game, it will be optimized and modded enough for full playability on a GTX1080. But I doubt that will be enough to make of this game a success and prevent Bethesda from shutting down Machine Games. Another studio sacrificed, another game that could have been good, only to be rushed into slop to feed the Gamepass cancer.
At least try to look into things before making absurd claims.
The steamdeck officially supports ray tracing. So it running in the steamdeck doesn’t prove that it “doesnt need rt”.
Stop actively spreading misinformation
Steam Deck uses RDNA 2 which has RT cores, so it is an RT card. "RTX" is just a marketing name for a NVIDIA product suite.
Although the post above mine beat me to the punch.
RT support is not mandatory for any game. It was forced here because it's a scam move, a deal between Nvidia and Bethesda.
Yes, in theory every gpu can run rt, in practice this is not the case….
Games get developed using pre existing api’s, those api’s are only supported by certain gpu’s.
So no, ray tracing cannot be run on any hardware when using a specific api. To suggest using a different api is absolute bonkers.
Just accept that you were wrong and do some more research.
Dx12 isn’t mandatory to run games, windows 10 isn’t mandatory to run games, physx isn’t mandatory to run games.
Yet a lot of games have these requirements because of api requirements. You are actively trying to halt progression. Do better.
The studio responsible for the french localization of the game, Bethesda Lyon IIRC, has already been closed. Poor sales will be the convenient excusee for them to liquidate Machine Games. Another sacrifice for the gamepass cancer. That's what they do.
Eat your crow.
Why dont you pay for this game you spend so much of your time defending? Put your money where your mouth is.
Making an incorrect argument matters, because that was your entire point of it “not being needed”….
This isn’t even a “requirement scam”. This technology is 6 years old.
Don’t like it? Move on, complaining here won’t help anyone
Why would i spend money to play a game on steam, when i already have access to the game elsewhere?
That sounds like a waste of money. No need to attack and belittle me just because i pointed out your mistake
Secondly, you can make your point without being rude to people…
Already explained it all here :
