RAY TRACING ***REQUIRED***??? ARE YOU KIDDING ME???
Putting this notice 2 days before release is a JOKE. I'm requesting a refund, it's stupid to force people to have something that is NOT IMPORTANT FOR A GAME to be MANDATORY.

You want to force people to upgrade their setup that runs everything else just fine, forgetting that this planet has like 200 countries and maybe it's "cheap" to upgrade in the US or Europe, but Latin America is ♥♥♥♥♥♥ in that regard.

Thank you Bethesda & Microsoft. You ruined both my day and my dad's. We were extremely looking forward to this game.

If anyone know a way to disable this requirement, please let me know.

Weird how your experience mirrored mine.

I had to refund, was very disappointing.

Refund away if you have a potato, no one cares.
Warhawks Dec 6, 2024 @ 6:42am
Not sure why you are complaining as most basic Graphics cards can handle ray-tracing. Even most 1080s if not all. But I see where you come from

By handle, you mean barely handle it as the framerate drops to like 15fps and lower.

You must be the "do you guys not have phones?" guy.

Yeah no, they dont. 4090 is the only GPU that does it OK-ish. But you're still sacrificing high-refresh. And all the cards below it quickly run out of VRAM. Another Jensen lie that 80%+ of the market fell for.

He's worse than Todd.

NOT KIDDING,ITS THE REALITY!
RedRiot193 Dec 6, 2024 @ 7:06am
lol you do NOT need a 4090 to use ray tracing at high framerates.

Anyways just refund. If the game was built with ray tracing in mind only that's up to the devs. I don't think devs need to hold back because people won't upgrade.

Has nothing to do with playing on a potato.

Ray tracing basically tanks your FPS for basically 0 gain in graphical quality and has never worked properly. Making it mandatory is just dumb.

Sooner or later, you WILL have to upgrade if you want to keep up. That is just the way it is. I built a new PC when The Witcher 3 released, so I could play it at more than 20 FPS. A couple years ago, I bought a new PC to replace THAT aging one, so I could keep up with new releases again.

It is just the way it is, and taking your aggression out on devs for simply following the progression of technology does nothing for you.

Look at the bottom. They all say RT required. It's so dumb to only announce it a day before the early release of the game. It should be considered fraud in my opinion.

The unchecked progression of technology regarding VIDEOGAME GRAPHICS is unnecessary. We don't NEED Ray-Tracing to enjoy a game. We don't NEED 250GB for a game (it's 112GB for this one, without DLC). It's thinking that everythings NEEDS to keep pushing forward again and again and again only to favor... more spending, that hurts the industry as a whole.

And you're ignoring the fact they updated the store page to announce this mandatory requirement 2 DAYS BEFORE RELEASE. Devs & publishers are at fault because they are forcing a novelty like ray-tracing on an engine that is known for it's FLEXIBILITY and OPTIMIZATION capabilities.

They are gatekeeping for the sake of gatekeeping. You defending it is bad for all of us.

I can't believe people aren't pointing out that they only just revealed that it requires RTX 2 days before release. That should be counted as false advertising, and a scam.

If you are interested in a good Indy adventure for you and your Pop's try The Emperor's Tomb, it's an older Indy game available on GOG, there is one super memorable mission with a gigantic crocodile Indy must defeat that always comes to mind....super-fun game. Whip included!

Sure with low end hardware you will see massive hits, the graphical quality depending on the game is far from zero and can be very massive improving immersion loads. As for it not working properly, what are you even talking about. It's time to upgrade your old tech buddy, spouting nonsense isn't going to make your hardware newer or stop graphical progress, just grow up and try to come to grips with the fact you need a new gpu finally. I suggest you buy a used 3090 with 24gb/vram, it'll last a long while still and can be purchased for fairly cheap.
