After 8 years, it's probably time to upgrade if you want to play big AAA games. Indie games are great, though. If not, you could buy an Xbox. Playing on PC for the latest big games is an expensive hobby.

That's a scam. A 1080 is more than capable of playing modern AAA games without ray tracing. It's a scam push my nvidia to sell their stupid RT tech that nobody wants. Most people turn it off anyways because of the performance.

Completely different, but yes those are temporary scams. I say temporary, because my 1953 Ford Customline will still outlive cars made today. My 1979 Camaro will still outlive cars made today.

btw i don't turn off RT cause i have a 4090 with a waterblock on a custom waterloop with 1080 rad + a 280 both on push pull but it's not a competition.
actually this game is awful, shadows are horrific and frame gen are "artefact land".
hopefully with right settings on the Vsync you can USE YOUR GPU, what a news...
i think this game need a BIG update to fix some issues.
can't wait the 9th december to start a game and not a beta/prototype.

at the moment dlls has some bugs DLAA included. hopefully the patch tracing patch fixes some of this stuff. ray reconstruction will be added soon no set date yet.

There is a mod at nexusmods to turn off raytracing and then you can play without a raytracing card: optimization for Indiana Jones and the Great Circle with RT ON and OFF option

I have a 4050 on a laptop and was getting 30-40 on ultra for the first part then they took a dive in Vatican city to 25 but in Egypt they dipped even further to like 10-20 it's unplayable cuz even if I switch to low from ultra now it looks like ♥♥♥♥ with basically same fps so why bother. If I could just lower the rt quality it would help I bet. Aren't there console commands somewhere?

If you use the more advanced Full RT settings, the Vegetation Animation quality GREATLY affects performance. Basically put it to Medium or buy a 9800X3D.
