Swing mechanics? You hold RMB and move up and down, release RMB and move back and forth. Pretty simple, unless you mean something else.
This game is made for controllers, as many others - for example Guardians of the Galaxy.
At the end of the day it comes to your preference.
What I can say is whenever I play a game with controller, it adds to the immersion. I don't feel like I'm playing an online competitive game where I need fast / twitch movements, I'm here to enjoy a single player experience.
When performing puzzles, you can slowly move parts, controller vibrates there is more "interaction" with the game. This cannot be done with keyboard.
I can walk, walk slower, walk even slower, walk faster. On keyboard, walk / run.
These are just examples, again, I feel that games are somehow more immersive when playing with controller - just be wise to have a good controller.
Even the camera movement on the controller (although trickier than using mouse) adds to the immersion as the camera movement is smoother.
Menu navigation is also easier / intuitive when using controller.
The menus in this are excellent with KBM and the mouse is supported in all of them. I think some of you just prefer controllers and find ways to make it seem like they're objectively better when they're not.
Not really. As I've said I've been only PC gamer. Only recently I've started playing with controllers.
If menus are fine, why can't you click the menu options at the top - Map / Journal etc with the mouse?
This game was made for controllers that's why.
You can click every topic, note, etc. with your mouse. Never tried to click the top since Q and E are so easy to use to move through, but either way don't see that as an issue.
Every game is made to work with a controller now except like Civ 6 or whatever, but that doesn't mean the KBM controls are bad. They're not bad here. I literally never use a controller for anything 3D and have had to deal with some rough interfaces like Dark Souls, but this is absolutely fine.
Not really, toggle walk imho is needed for immersion.
On controller you can move very slowly if you want or run.
It's cool that you like walking super slowly through the environments for immersion reasons. I am genuinely glad you enjoy it. However I would guess less than half a percent of people actually do that.
How this game handles walk/run is identical to how thousands of first-person PC games have handled it for 30 years and I really doubt the vast majority would even notice an issue let alone care about it.
Yeah not arguing and actually i play KBM and controller also, depending on the game.
In general, controller adds some kind of immersion in game because is actually harder to aim and do certain stuff but also because you play more casually.
I just jumped into this conversation and your logic fascinates me so much that I couldn't resist reacting on your posts..
First of all, that guy who named you "bro" was just trying to help you out. But as you are probably a spoiled little ♥♥♥♥, you didn't even appreciate his effort of helping you out a little.
Second, prone and crouch are not walking speeds. Why not add swimming and jumping to your argument?
Also, what the hell are you on about? Getting this upset about walking speed. Really? All these guys are right about most games not having walking speeds. I know for a fact that I have played way more games than you and it's not some standard to have 47839 walking speeds in a game. Naturally, an analog stick has way more control over walking speed so it's very logical not every dev will put a button like that in a game only for PC.
The most in depth movement are mostly in MilSim games and that is a very niche genre. That's also the only genre where it's mandatory to move slow like that. But you can't compare that small selection of games with all the games on the market. You say it like it's the most normal option in games, but it really is not.
Aside from the discussion, the message to use a controller surprised me also and made me searching on this subject. I was like "really?", but luckily the other guys here are actually helpful on this matter.
