I agree with you on this, it seems like such a small thing to implement. How hard can it actually be to make a Walk toggle since you're doing keyboard controls anyway. But I think they just don't care.
I asked a CDPR developer on his stream about why there's not Walk button in Cyberpunk and he basically said (I'm paraphrasing) just play with a controller, that's most people do now.
Personally I am still baffled that no games ever copied or built upon the Splinter Cell mechanic where the scroll wheel was used as a movement control button. You would scroll to go from creeping slowly to sprinting (I think) and it worked like an analog stick on controller. Damn shame, I thought that was so awesome.
What planet are you living on ? Analogue JOG/WALK speed is a gamepad feature ???
It's a FALSE statement ! We've got nowadays keyboards/keypads with pressure-sensitive analogue keys and those are much better and flexible than console controllers, because you can adjust the pressure to your likings and reprogram any key placement. And even the mouse wheel is an analogue device that is accessible by default to every PC user.
Because there is no point for walking slower than default walking speed. Only point for moving slower is stealth, which is done when crouching. Aiming a weapon/camera or holding a light up high also lowers the speed.
+1 HOLD CROUCH
+1 HOLD PEEK
Controller is for third person only :(
Talking about CDPR and their games. Here's an example of how you can do analogue keyboard and mouse controls from the modders:
https://www.nexusmods.com/witcher3/mods/6377
(r457 promises a Next Gen release soon)
And here's another one for Star Wars Jedi Survivor:
https://www.nexusmods.com/starwarsjedisurvivor/mods/55
And for Dragon's Dogma 2:
https://www.nexusmods.com/dragonsdogma2/mods/144
It was also done by games like Star Citizen. It's not hard to do. It's just laziness by the devs.
Who the flark are you to tell ME how I should LIKE and PLAY my games?!
The 'default' speed atm is a JOG / RUNNING speed, which it's unnatural for a human being and it serves only little kids that like to run everywhere (in real life).
'WALKING' speed (that is MISSING in this game with M/Kb) is the DEFAULT, natural, 'emulating', moving speed of a human being. Ever played one of the best games ever made on this planet, called RDR2?!
I doubt it. It must be too slow for you.
The point is immersion. To walk around other people who are also walking, take in the sights, instead of running everywhere and around everyone like a buffoon. I guess most people in this thread are too gamerbrained for that thought though. Why move slower through a cool scene when I can run everywhere.
(Even though developers adding the OPTION to walk toggle would never hurt anyone and would be a net positive for PC players on keyboard)
There are options to walk slower:
a) just walk while crouching
b) pick lighter and hold aim (great for immersion because you'll need it a lot anyways)
c) pick gun and hold aim
I like to walk for immersion man, come on
I don't own a controller and I don't want a controller.
The last "controller" that I enjoyed playing some games with was an Advanced Gravis Analog Pro Joystick... ;)
Are you flarking serious?!
Do this again and you'll get your backside reported for trolling.
This is with the Xbox Gamepass version and the best version of the Xbox controller available.
All drivers and windows updates are done and controller firmware is the latest available. It's not the first time I've seen complaints of this, dating back couple years.
Wtf is going on MS!

So consumers should just accept getting lesser products cause devs can't bother to add a walk toggle for people who like to immerse themselves in games and don't own and potentially can't afford peripherals?
