I am playing with the mouse and Keyboard, it's probably not the best option, but for now I don't see disadvantages playing it like that.

Plays absolutely fine with KB/M...EXCEPT:
Gamepad Controller: Has analog movement speed control.
KB/M: SHOULD HAVE (WALK - RUN - SPRINT) but game options only offer RUN - SPRINT. Sucks a little.

So another "PC game" without proper mouse and keyboard support, eh? Good to know!

So flarking TIRED of these AAA developers not including the most basic feature in a FPS game... a damn toggle walk key.

I don't even... Do they even test this game with mouse + keyboard?!

Dude the controls on M+KB are solid. When have you ever missed analog movement speed? It doesn't even matter. I started out on my Xbox elite controller, and switched back to M+KB and like it better. You're good bro, it's fine.

^ With that statement, you're definately not my 'bro'. :lunar2019crylaughingpig:

You decide what's good for me.
You say my preferences don't matter.
You tell me to downgrade my experience with a gamepad that I never liked.

So...

I bid you farewell!

I'll bet you're a lot of fun at parties.

Most games with keyboard+mouse controls have only 2 speeds: walk + run. Sometimes, slower speed for crouching.
Some games with gamepad control have analog walk speed control, so you can walk at any speed + button for running.

This game has quite standard keyboard+mouse controls, gamepad just has little extra, which many developers don't bother to do.

^ Unclear post. What did you mean?

As comment:

1: 'Most' of today's 'modern' games with kb + mouse have 2 speeds: (1)JOG and (2)sprint. These... AAA(A) developers forget (too many times) to include a WALK speed. See even Cyberpunk 2077 at launch (they fixed it later).

2: I don't care about gamepad, as I dislike it strongly being such a downgrade in terms of controls. It's just s*ite compared to KB (with the exception of analog control, which doesn't compensate anything).

2: Again: whatever was the point of you post?!

The point is that JOG/WALK, RUN, CROUCH are the standard speeds for keyboard and mouse. Analog JOG/WALK speed is a gamepad feature, which isn't in many games either.

You make it sound like there is some 4th standard speed. What button does this slower speed usually allocates? SHIFT is usually run and CTRL is usually crouch.

Yes, there are at least 4 speeds:

1. Normal walk speed (the natural way and speed of movement for every NORMAL person on this planet)
2. Run / jog speed.
3. Sprint speed.
4. Crouch speed.
5. Prone speed.
6. Holding a weapon speed vs bare hands speed.

Examples of games with 4 speeds: STALKER 2 / old STALKER games, Starfield, RDR2, GTA games, Cyberpunk 2077, etc.

And there are even games with more variable speeds like Thief GOLD / 2 (creep speed) or variable speed via mouse scroll (Splinter Cell Chaos Theory).

And you call yourself gamers... :shellshock:

Prone isn't even standard feature, whether a game has walk or jog as base speed, depends on the game. In this game, you walk slower when aiming a gun or holding the lighter higher.
Highlancer Dec 8, 2024 @ 10:41am
Nah man, we were talking about general speeds in videogames. Not only here.
