Poor performance after restarting game
I'm getting almost 100 FPS on Medium-High Settings. But when I restart the game, the FPS tanks to 15. I don't get more than 15FPS, irrespective of whatever settings I change.
But as soon as I restart my PC, the performance is back to 100FPS. So I have to restart my PC everytime to gain back the performance.
Is anyone else facing similar issue?

Same thing with me! I have 2 PCs, a laptop with a 2080 s and a desktop with 4090 etc , on the 2 PCs, the first launch goes well, as soon as I want to close the game and restart, even 5 minutes later, the fps really drop, like from 80 fps to 10 (on the 4090) ! have activated, desactivated the DLSS, taa, with or without native resolution etc etc, I have to restart the game at least 10 times, DLSS on off etc before coming back with the "good" fps and when I finally have what I need, I notice artifacts with the DLSS etc when Indy is at college etc , on the windows, flashy, too flashy even . even better, I tested the dlaa, the game crashed 10 seconds later . really needs an update etc, as it stands there is too much unknown to know calmly

I hope this can help someone. I have a 3080 10GB, using the Medium preset with Windowed Borderless mode + Lossless scaling app. I have locked the game to 40FPS in game, resulting in ~80FPS in most areas using TAA - not DLSS. A few hiccups but for the most part a lot more playable than standard settings for now.

I disabled dlss and FI and texture size second highest. Works good so far

Turning off dlss and switching through diss modes and back to quality mode works for me. So strange

Yes I tried this as well for the same issue and it worked. Toggling DLSS to Native, then closing Options and then switching back to DLSS worked for me as well!

Once in awhile after a cutscene my frames drop. Restarting fixes it.

I get this and changing the DLSS setting fixes it, but it’s quite annoying to have to do this every time - anyone found a permanent solution?

This game's performance is like a box of chocolates. I never know what kind of performance I'm gonna get.

yeah similar deal for me, with my 3090 I have settled @ 30fps in game cap with LS I get 60fps thats with full PTracing, almost zero hitching or stutters, works very well. Love LS!

No fix for this yet?

Same here. Runs perfect the first time I play it after installation. Smooth as hell. As soon as I restart the game, the FPS tanks heavily. I have to reset to default settings, and even then it's still a little slower. I'm gonna try that config tweak on the first page to see if it works.

You do not need to restart your PC. Instead go to user>[username]>saved games>Machine games>Indiana Jones and delete the config files(both local and cfg file).
You need to do this everytime before the start the game though.

Can confirm this absolutely works for me on Game Pass version. Thanks, dude! Hopefully they fix it, so the questionable percentage of people who have this similar issue don't have to go through this process constantly.

Same issue. Restarting the game gives me a whopping 7fps. Changing DLSS settings (after struggling to move the mouse at 7fps) fixes it immediately - back up to 70+ fps, even if I just change DLSS back from whatever it's set on, to something else, then back.

Guess that the real fix is either do this dance every time, or just to not use DLSS until they patch this. Pretty terrible.

Also, this happens on a bare-bones fresh Windows 11 install with a 3070ti and fresh nVidia graphic drivers. Nothing copied over from a previous install, not an upgrade from W10, a true out-of-the-box fresh Windows 11.

I just got a new SSD for Xmas and decided to reinstall from scratch, and on a whim I decided to load Indy first to see if the problem exists on the barest of the bare fresh installs. The game literally had a brand new W11, latest nVidia drivers, and Indiana Jones installed. That's it.

Yes, it still happens, so this is 100% a game problem.

Thank you!

I was playing around with graphics settings and it went down to 2 FPS making it impossible to try and mess with the graphics settings in-game. Using this trick seems to have worked, I was able to get back into the game and set the graphics back the way I wanted them. Seems to be OK now, been in and out of game a few times with no more issues.
