Lighting makes parts almost unplayable
Messed with my brightness and turned it so high that NPC models were literally shining, and there are STILL parts of the map in the Vatican that are pitch black, literally cannot see a thing. This makes exploration very difficult, which is a problem in an exploration-based game...

Why the hell is there such a huge difference in lighting?

I have the same issue on my ASUS TUF laptop, first time this has happened since I got it.

I also have the same problem, lack of lighting and metallic textures, interestingly mine is also a notebook, Dell G15 with RTX 3060. Do RTX mobile have this type of problem? As far as I saw in videos, the lighting on the desktop is normal.

If you find a solution, let me know.

it's a problem with your monitor brightness and color settings.
it's different for each monitor so i cannot suggest you anything, but i can say to just look up the laptop or monitor model and find the best setting for them.

i had this issue with my monitor where all the games were darker than they should be and had to look up the best options

I only have this problem with this specific game. I never had brightness problems with any game before. So it's not a monitor porblem. It's an in-game problem that requires a patch because most parts of the game are unplayable like this.

because games do lighting differently, in some you can see the issue with the monitor settings and some you hardly notice it.

you could atleast try the solution i suggested instead of immediatly jumping to conclusions that it's the game fault because many other people have no problem with the lighting, you are acting like the previous guy that blamed the game for input lag but it was actually because he had a option turned on in geforce control that cause it.

It's not a problem with the monitor, you said you had a problem with 'all' the games, in my case it's only with this game, since all the others have the lighting they should have.

Many others? all I see in this thread is 3 people having the same problem and you're the only one who thinks they're the smartest in the room. Chill out my guy it's clearly a problem in the game we're not stupid to not try and change the monitor's settings.

I updated the latest nvidia driver, but it did not help at all. Hopefully this will be patched somehow, it's certainly not my monitor.

Same for my 4050 laptop. I already increased the brightness to maximum. Also, the cutscene are just fine but in-game is so dark.

Sounds like a problem with the game that a temporary fix might be the device/monitor settings (then change them back after playing the game.) I have my nvidia control panel always running because I have to 'fix' different games, videos, even web pages several times a day.

Lenovo Legion 5i
i5 12500h, RTX3060
the game is so dark with metallic textures for me too.
I ran the game with afterburner, it's using 5.5gb VRAM
The only thing I can think of is the game is maxed out on VRAM and is unable to display the textures correctly. Hopefully they can patch this.

I have a legion as well, except with a Ryzen CPU. RTX 3060 as well with 6gb VRAM. I think the problem is the laptop GPUs with less that 8gb vram is likely the culprit. The game runs really well on lowish settings all things considered, it's just the shading / metallic cover to everything in shaded areas is aggressively disgusting to look at.
