Yeah. Steam Input is bad about blocking haptics. You might as well disable it for most modern games.
I wonder if you can disable Steam Input as a default. It tends to be more trouble than it is worth. It is mainly useful for mapping controls in old games.

Same here, disabling steam input disables controller, however, even force enabling controller in steam controller options, still doesn't provide any haptics.
Thank you! I turned off steam input and it still wouldn’t work and didn’t think to try that. Instantly fixed it, thanks
