Good on Steam Deck?
I pre-ordered the game, but had to refund it because it won't work on my current PC (it still hurts 😞). I'll buy a Steam Deck this year, so I'd like to know if Indy works well. Also if I can connect it on TV and play with 2 joysticks with someone sitting beside me, just like Switch.
Thanks.

... Anyway, this will be useful if they don't update the game until then.

It will never be updated to officialy support steam deck. Steam decks hardware is not anywhere near the minimums recommended to play this game.

Steam deck hardware was outdated by desktop standards even before it was launched. Do not expect any high end games to be supported on it. It's designed to run older games and games with very low end system requirements.

If you looked at the specs for steam deck with any basic level of understanding you would know this.

EDIT: looking at the games you play, you're playing Street Fighter 6 and Like a Dragon Infinite wealth, which means your PC is already as good or better than a Steam Deck. Buying a Steam Deck isn't going to perform any better than what you already have.

Fun fact: the game runs fine on the Xbox Series S with 60fps at a 1080p resolution. The Series S is also cheaper than the SteamDeck (standard price is $300), so this might be an alternative solution for those who don't want to spend a lot of money on hardware upgrades or new hardware for playing this game.
Can’t the Steam Deck make use of FSR 3.1 frame generation?

Do you have any idea how useless that is?

Frame generation literally just fakes the frame rate, it doesn't improve processing or scale to meet any requirements at all. It's one of the most useless marketing gimmicks of the last decade to fool people that don't understand anything about graphics cards or hardware.

If that's the case, Steam Deck is not worth it. I'll just buy a new desktop, piece by piece is cheaper. Thank you.

The levels of ignorance you just demonstrated is astounding. Far from a marketing gimmick it is the future.

fg is fake frames, just cause the counter shows more frames doesn't mean they're real frames, that's why there's added latency

Heads up: It’s ALL fake frames. And Nvidia are bringing the latency down.

and you're calling other people ignorant?

this is the new marketing trend in the past few years, it used to be raw power, but now it's upscaling and fake frames cause gpu manufacturers don't want spend the money on actual hardware improvements

Uhm no…

We have hit a limit with what we can achieve with raw power without immensely increasing the power consumption. The upscaling technology and frame generation technology is just the next step forward.

Games have always been trickery.

Right. I think some gamers are in for a very rude awakening.
Nvidia have said that 80% of gamers with RTX cards play games with DLSS.
Now that latency on frame gen has been reduced (and will reduce further still) it will also be widely used.
You simply won’t be able to play the latest and greatest games in the near future without embracing these technologies.

Exactly!

I understand that for some its harder to embrace than for others. I guess i have less of a problem accepting the situation as a game dev myself.

My entire life revolves around adapting and using new technologies.
