I have everything on max on a 4090 incl FG.
Im not using frame gen at all.
It's just weird that at native i get 70-80 FPS and doesn't drop, but if i turn on DLSS it feels way smoother.
But in both cases : native and DLSS it doesn't drop below 80 FPS at all - just feels choppier when it's on native, not sure why.
What ended up fixing the issues for me was capping my framerate to half my max refresh rate. Smooth as butter now.
i still notice with when its at 138fps which is what i cap at for VRR. im very prone to noticing frame drops and bad frame pacing and i can not stand it, put me off playing it. the only thing that fixed it ( mostly ) is turning off VRR and using a fixed refresh rate at 60hz and capping it in game to 60fps. still feels slightly jittery though, some weird strobe effect when panning the camera, makes it feel less smooth than it should. better than bad frame pacing though
It was running absolutely fine and now it's not great. I can only solve it by turning all RT off. It gets worse after Egypt... especially in Thailand...not sure what has happened? FG fails to work...it's odd as I had a windows update I am sure and then the games frame pacing went to ♥♥♥♥...but this is via the Xbox app PC...
I found capping fps helps a lot. For example the game can reach 120fps but feels stuttery, capping fps to 100 (or any value that you can consistently hit) for some reason feels a lot smoother and has less input lag.

I would bump past my VRAM pool with a 4080S when trying to use DLAA at 1440p - but only during cutscenes. I was able to stay within the vram budget by switching to DLSS quality and keep the higher settings with frame gen. while maintaining a proper frame-time graph.
I should also mention I'm running the last official driver release and not the current. I hear there's a bug with the driver profile on latest release - along with killing off the control panel.
