It's pretty new to not be able to save games. Recent AAA only stuff. They can't have you breaking the game by like, saving and loading, gotta control the experience.
If you open the menu you can check how long since it last saved the game. If it says under a minute, you are safe to just quit out and you will be back in that spot when you reload.
I would prefer a manual save too. Even just a save and quit would be better :P
My dude, have you played any older games? I remember when, at best, you got a long string of random letters as your save lol

Saves have nothing to do with passwords. Conventional saving has been available in video games for almost 40 years. Have an argument before attempting to make one.
