cpu at 100%
Ever since that 900mb update my cpu is constantly at 100% in the vatican part so the game is borderline unplayable. Or was the italian castle mission that much more optimized compared to the vatican part? HELP!!4!4

Same here, if anyone comes to a fix please post. Ive tried changing resolutions running on low turning low latency off and updating drivers,

Same here. CPU usage at 90% during Vatican mission. Tried defaulting my settings (because I was tinkering a bit before I noticed) doesn't fix it. Then I tried starting a new game...lo and behold, the issue does not persist outside of the Vatican area. Guess I'll just wait until they patch this game before playing it again.

Hmm.... Only around 20-35% cpu demand here (but then again, I am in the delicate position of gaming on my 'potato-laptop' (lenovo i9 /64gb ram/4090/2TB). As far as I am informed I am playing the updated version - or so I presume).

Well; that is all I can say at this point in time, gentlemen of the internet.

Having this issue as well. I was fine during the castle part of the mission then I'm walking around the vatican and my CPU is redlining the whole time. I have a 4070 Super and a 9700k not overclocked

So i have the same issue. But what iv found is if i have frame gen on the cpu is about 40%-50% but when i turn frame gen off BAM! 80%-90% i have a 9800x3d so dont think it should be this high

.... I've found a Solution:

I set the max-processorspeed to 10%. Problem Solved!
[You go to "Controlpanel" - then you venture into "hardware & settings"]

/my system/potato-lenovo9/ i9/ 64gib ram/ nvidia 4090/ 4tb ssd/
/playing in 4K-res., max-settings.

There must have been some stealth patch or something, but this went from running great on my 5090/5800X3D to being absolutely horrible as soon as something is loading.

Starting the game now has a nearly 1 minute long blackscreen before the main menu shows after the logos (was instant before)

And going near any zone boundary drops me to 1-2 fps and 100% cpu load.

https://youtu.be/w2vsOZ0ZiWc

Even just turning rt to lowest in the menu, locks the entire game forever.

Can confirm you are not the only one..
Just had an update and now here I am trying to fix this s*t:lunar2019crylaughingpig:
My new new PC is eating it for breakfast. Can get around 70-80FPS at 4K and I enjoy Vsync with some of my games so playing at locked at 1440p DLSS quality while forcing DLSS4 in the NVIDIA app is amazing. 9800x3D compared to my 10700K...well, there is no comparison. Loving this thing. I'm not playing without a lot of the better RT stuff enabled. Too much of a performance hit.

You bought the wrong case, it is not good for gaming.

-You should try the Commodore C-64 !!!
The BEST gaming-system ever m.a.d.e.

... It'll eat this game for Breakfast :- )
Yikes, are you saying that you're seeing 100% processor workload utilization across all 8 cores and 16 threads?

I've never heard of any game or application doing such a thing outside of Prime95 stability testing.

I feel like there is a rogue background process just eating up available memory and system resources which is causing a system bottleneck.

It was the game process that showed as 100% usage. i have never seen anything like either in all my years of gaming.

However i seem to have solved it by updating to the latest nvidia drivers, 272.42 And Windows 24H2 (Thanks DDU, i was not ready for a clean/reboot to also trigger waiting windows updates). Now all loads are back to being instant again.

I guess something snuck into the mini patch that needed one or the other.
