Frame Rate is Disastrous
How does this game run quite so badly, even on powerful hardware?

I'm on an overclocked 4080 Super and an overclocked 12900K, and im struggling to stay above 60 fps at 1440p, with DLSS performance, frame generation on and NO ray tracing. In fact, even changing the native resolution down to 720p as if it's the year 2006 makes little to no difference!

I get substantially better performance and frame rates than this in something Like Cyberpunk with DLSS on quality, no frame generation and ray tracing on!

Absolutely ridiculous.

How about actually buying it before claiming it runs bad??? You did not buy it

Have you ever heard of this little, unknown service called Xbox Game Pass? It's this thing that thousands upon thousands of PC players - such as myself - have, that allows them to play games like this one, without having to purchase on Steam...

Crazy, right?

Well either you lie. Or you don't know how to change settings in your game and you possibly got tons of apps and browser with 50 tabs open while running the game...

No, I'm definitely not lying - for what possible reason would I do that? - and no, I don't have tons of apps and a browser open.

Alternatively and in reality, this game is just terribly optimised and extremely power hungry for what it is, as well as full of visual issues and bugs, as pointed out by dozens upon dozens of people on here and across the internet.

It just runs badly. Very simple.

no one with that kinda hardware has your issues, your pc is either ♥♥♥♥♥♥ or you're straight up lying

He isn't lying, the texture size pool settings are not explained very well so probably didn't expect on a 4080 Super that he'd need too worry about vram lol

your settings are to high, based on what you've stated so far. Lower your settings and you will be ok. You are trying to path trace at ultra, it's clear as day based on what you've stated, even though you are claiming you aren't using ray tracing, we can tell you are. Lol.

Drop texture pooling down a notch or two and reboot your rig and post back, that should really help. I run it at 4k max settings with no path tracing at 60fps with or without dlss on my win11/3090/13400/32ddr4/nvme/with-hdr. I actually find it sharper with dlss enabled, but still deciding so I go back and forth....

Turn off HDR. Fixed this same issue for me

Have you happened to download the new Nvidia graphics driver update that was just released a few days ago? Other than that, I would wager to bet that you have something set up incorrectly or some of your hardware isn't working like it should. I know many different Windows settings are important for gaming as well, but if it was only settings, I think your performance should not be as you describe. And turn off HDR for now.

For people to better help you it would help if you provide your PC specifications. (aka provide a DXdiag)
You game's settings.
Etc.

I am sure there is an issue there and people will see if once all that information is provided.
NathW14 Dec 10, 2024 @ 6:20pm
For those replying that it's my PC; it's definitely not. This is the one and only game I'm having anything like these sort of issues with, and in fact the only game I've had any frame rate issues with whatsoever since getting the 4080 Super four months ago. I can play most games absolutely maxed out, smooth as butter, at way, way over a consistent 60 fps at 1440p. This game is the outlier and how poorly it's running even without any sort of ray tracing turned on is just bizarre.

For anyone crying "ur lyin tho!", please get a grip and put your weird, fan boy behaviours away and stop being personally offended by someone being disappointed with/having issues with the performance of the game. Why on earth would I lie about how the game is performing for me? Truly mind boggling the nonsensical way some people react to criticism of something they like.

Will try turning down texture pool as Quick☢420™ mentioned and see if that makes a difference.

4090/14900k/64gbDDR5
3440x1440p Ultrawide
Everything maxed out except RT. Frame Gen off. DLSS/DLAA On, HDR 1000 On.
I locked the game at 90fps and it never dips below.
Uses about 50-75% gpu usage while locked at 90fps.
4080 Super w/12900k should be doing really good on this game.
That is strange.

OK, yep, this did it. I turned texture pool down from Supreme two notches to Ultra, and the fps has rocketed.

Thank you.
