Fps is stuck below 50 no matter what setting I change.
So I started playing this game a few days ago now and I got up to the vatican city were for the first few hours I was able to play at a steady 60 and above fps. But now the Fps will not budge above 50. Even if I have everything low or off. It will not budge. My specs are:

AMD RYZEN 7 5800X 8 CORE PROCESSOR
NIVDIA GEFORCE RTX 3070
16 GB RAM
2TB of storage.

My drivers are of course NVIDIA driven and up to date at the time of writing.
Again I have fiddled with every setting, restarted the game and all that but still just can't push to 60. which is really all I want is just to have a smooth 60 cause game is just hurting my eyes with how bumpy it feels, even at a locked 30. So I am not sure if this is a game issue, A pc issue or what.

Any help, advice etc is appreciated. I am looking into some fixes currently so I will update the thread if I find the fix.

Have you checked your monitor settings (refresh rate)? Do you experience this 50fps limit also with other games and applications?

My monitor refresh rate is limited to 165, since that is the highest it can refresh, but normally my game is uncapped, I do have it capped to about 45 to try and ease the stuttering for the meantime. (It hurts my eyes)

As for other games no I have not had this issue with them, if I lower something the frames generally see an increase, unless of course the game is not well optimised. But again no, this is the only game where I have had this issue, atleast that I can recall.

I made a reinstall of my drivers just to make sure they was up to date, and I looked into reddit to see if anyone else had the issue, some people said (Bare in mind these posts are around 6 months old) that it was a bug with NVIDIA itself or something within the program, though this is supposedly fixed and even at the time it wasn't I didn't have fps issues with other games so, I don't think that is the issue, in regards to the NVIDIA problem that is.

A clean re-install of the drivers sounds good. I'd try the optimization settings that NVIDIA Experience offers for the game... if that doesn't help, I'd try the bare minimum options for every category in the video settings, for FullHD. If the performance is still below 60fps then there must be something else going on... maybe open the task manager and the performance overview of your hardware components (cpu, ram, gpu) to see, if something else is dragging the performance down.

I will try the clean re install. I have already tried the optimization setting and also putting everything to low and neither work unfortunetly.

I'll let you know if anything changes after the reinstall. Might even try and game reinstall whilst I am at it, just to make double sure something didn't mess up.

I reinstalled the drivers and the game, tried a bunch of other fixes I saw on reddit and what not, disabling low latency, turning DLSS on and off again and such, still no luck,

I am giving up on trying to mend it, I have been patient as I can with it but this is getting into frustrating levels now. Thank for the help and sorry for it bearing no fruit. Hopefully in the future I'll be able to play it but, for now just gonna cut my loses.

Again thank you for all ya help, was really kind of you to try <3 Have a good day and all the best going forward.
