Game Breaking Bug: Chamber of Resonance

I’ve encounter my second game breaking bug while playing through the game . The first was in Sukhothai when I was unable to buy the breathing device. When re-visiting Tongdang after not having enough money when first presented with the breathing device, the device no longer appeared on the table as an item to buy. I rolled back saves but was unsuccessful in getting past this problem.

I therefore gave up and decided to start a new game in hopes to not face the issue again when reaching Sukhothai. This time however, I’m stuck on the Idol of Ra (in the Chamber of Resonance). I take photos of the statues and the tablets but am not given the prompt to look to Dr. Lombardi’s journal (even though Indy says this). I again tried rolling back the save a few times but am continuing to get this issue.

Has anyone encountered this and know how to get past it? I’m losing the will to keep playing given the various game breaking bugs I’ve seen out there and that I’ve experienced, so hoping there’s a way around these to make further progress in the game.
