Sooo the secret ending (spoiler free mostly)

So finally had all 50 relics and opened the wall up this morning.
Some of these relics as you know, are ridiculous to get. But I thought dammit I'm finishing this.
So the secret is...the location of a certain thing and the survival of... someone.
All that work for that?
I'm trying hard not to complain, the game is amazing. Very cinematic.
The big secret plays like a Marvel post credit scene. Juuuust enough info to go, oh really? And then done.
I guess I was expecting something more Indy like. Like him getting his first Peru clue (for the Chachapoyan Idol). In the game he asks Dame Nawal if she'd fund it.
Or maybe Indy getting a telegram that his old nemesis Belloq was seen leaving for Peru and he better get there and save the idol. Ya know?

Am I off base here? The game ending was awesome but this was just kinda underwhelming.

yeah, it made no sense at all. are we supposed to take away that indi was ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ around with the puzzle and the nazis won? if the rest of the game wasnt good i would be pissed. did they take a page from nintendo about the seeds or something?

I couldn't be bothered with collecting all the relics so just watched on youtube and I was still disappointed with it.

As rewards go, it was underwhelming. It might as well have been just a standard credits bumper regardless rather than locked behind this collection quest.

Yet, what would be an acceptable reward in this situation?

Getting the things wasn't all that hard, just tedious in some instances. I think required tedium shouldn't lock away a lot of content.

I think the secret ending is supposed to be teasing the Order of Giants DLC that's been promised for the future of the game and how it links to the main story of The Great Circle.

Also, Belloq is dead. If you've watched Raiders of the Lost Ark, then you'd know this.
