Seriously, 4 or 5 bullets in the head to kill soldiers ?
At Himalaya you meet simple soldiers, you hardly knock them out and when you do it and pick up their gun, it takes at least 4 bullets in their faces to kiil them !!!
I know the game isn't about gunfights, but come on !

Are the guns really that bad?? I'm about 8 hours in and haven't used my gun yet. I'm saving it for tough guys, but if this is the case then I'm just better off punching people out. LOL

Are you sure it wasn't a paint gun?

You will have to punch harder and harder as the game goes ;)

Skill issue

Plenty of weapons to use that aren’t guns, using guns is the least optimal way to progress

Well, your enemies are fascists. So, y'know... Extra thick skulls.

Crouch behind a guy, hit him with a long item and apparently hurting his balls is more efficient than headshots lol

gunshots are very loud, or didn't you know? if you enjoy alerting every enemy in the area then you crack on.

They're actually not that loud. You can easily shoot several enemies without alerting the next courtyard.

No, it isn't. Guns DO, in fact, take 4 or so hits to kill a man. Headshots.
I tested it. Not a skill issue, try again.

Yeah, I guess it makes sense from a game balance standpoint though. It's easier to pull off headshots on enemies that are fairly slow and easy to hit than it is to take your time and sneak up behind them without being spotted. If you could just go around one-shotting guards, it would make clearing enemy encampments trivial. I like that it turns guns-blazing approaches into more of an escape tactic (grab a gun, mow down whoever is blocking your exit, and flee before you're swarmed) than a camp-clearing tactic (you don't really have enough ammo or health to fight off lots of enemies, especially on higher difficulties).

It’s not the point.
I rarely use the fireguns and I know they can create issues.
In fact I used some bullets to beat the giants faster, and I tried them on guards in the boat.
Plus so few ammos, the game is not designed for this.
But, once in a while, when you are fed up with melee, you’d expect fireguns to be a lot more efficient.

This is more first person beat em up than a shooter, but a very bad one mechanics-wise. Just pick up a perk that allows you to knock out unaware enemies with bare hands and it becomes very easy.
