How to stop holding item

if i go into my purse and pull out an item (say, the pendent), how can I go back to not holding anything? which button do I push on PC?

thanks, but I said on PC aka keyboard

edit: figured it out, it's the Q key

game have a settings menu, in there is a keyboard button layout and rebind setting. doesn't hurt looking there when you don't know what button do what.
