What is repairing kit for?

I finished the game and never used it once, there is no mention about it in game manual at all lol.

I used it to repair my gun when I bop soldiers on the head with it.

It repairs your primary weapon depending on an outfit (revolver, cane, spade...)

Couldn't repair secondary weapons line cane, I don't know how to use it even.

Trying to repair secondary weapon right now, repairing kit equipped, it does nothing when I use it or "switch" to secondary weapon.

You open inventory, and if the weapon is broken it is marked with x, you use cursor keys to navigate to it and then there'll be prompt to fix it

Ok, you have switch to something else in inventory and THEN select secondary weapon, otherwise there is no prompt. This seems to be bugged / unfinished UI feature.

and it's pretty lame that they didn't even mention it in game manual, perhaps it was added later in development and that's why it's like that, but thanks for help

The main weapon usually have horrible resistance even with upgrades.
Even if you know what it is for, you barely use it.
