Having a hard time getting into this game
It feels like Assassin's Creed Indiana Jones style. I loved the AC games but this is just boring. I am at the first major city but I can't find most of the spots marked on the map and I keep getting aggro'd by dudes who see through my disguise. Does it get better? I play for maybe half an hour, die a bunch of times and quit out of boredom. $70 was too much to pay to just toss this game to the back burner.

It gets better--narratively speaking--but if you dislike the mechanics that's something that is not going to change, because this is that type of game. Yes, lots of stealth is needed, and also puzzle-solving and mystery-finding. This is not an FPS or even an Action-Adventure game. It's more like a walking sim. In general, it will be a bit slow because the interesting parts come from the story, not from the action itself.

That said, half an hour is too little gameplay time to really get into most games, save from the most simple ones. Even Steam's refund policy covers four times that. My suggestion would be to keep playing, and when you are close to the 2-hour mark reconsider and if you still dislike it, refund it.

Guards with helmets or the buffed up guys can see through disguise. You have to move through the zones even though they basically all connected. Some zones unlock through questing or from keys found. Knock out guards preferably from the back with a sneak attack. There are boat loads of melee weapons laying around so Indy shouldn't really have to use revolver. Not really hard to outrun guards. just get to high ground so they can't get to you. Finding books helps upgrade Indy.

I've played for 4.3 hrs. Although it feels more like 10. I was referring to playing for about 1/2 hr at a time before I get bored.

I played this on PC game-pass for a little bit. Kinda had similar experience. I thought the opening sequence was hokey and the beginning of the castle was just a bunch of sneaking around or getting used to the melee. Then the Vatican was some go here, go there... Like you've stated, it did feel boring.
Also had some technical issue's with the game when I went to play it again so I deleted it.

Obviously I ended up buying it here and aside from the opening. I've had a completely different experience this time around. Played it yesterday for almost 6 hours. I was completely sucked it. I've only used stealth when I've had too but have mainly just been using the whip and beating people up.

The side quests have been good because I've came across other things I wouldn't seen/done if I just blew through it. (upgrades)

I doubt my life changing experience will change yours but it's been good campy fun so far.

This is how I felt about Star Wars Outlaws, it was AC: Star Wars. I heard their latest patch fixed a lot of the issues that made the game repetitive and boring. They also got rid of the autofail sneak missions, which was BS to begin with, but I digress. I understand this feeling, though I don't get it when playing Indy, it's more cinematic and the graphics are much better.

There is both a visual and an audio cue when Indy draws an enemy's attention. And one then has a couple of seconds to get out of their radar. If in disguse it usually suffices to just walk in the oppostite direction, but never start to run! So if one is careful enough, the stealth in this game works perfectly fine imo. And if you happen to get detected by many enemies at the same time the simple strategy is to climb on something (many possibilities for this in the Vatican) and wait until they deaggro again (which doesn't take too long).

It is a slow paced game and you are far better playing stealthy and not using guns at all, I liked it as I loved the original Indiana Jones movies from the 80's, so I appreciated how it kept to that aesthetic.

If you die constantly you're approaching this wrong, I think I have died maybe twice and that was from being completely careless or impatient and not seeing another enemy was a few feet from the dude I just shovelled in the head lol

When stealth fails, I'm finding combat easy if it's only a half dozen or so guards. Just whip em to make em drop their weapons, then beat them with what they drop. You must whip it.
Into shape. Go forward. Move ahead.

You can also take out an enemy in full view of another, if you do it at a bit of a distance where IRL someone would clearly see you but the game AI says they don't.

You can also take out an enemy pretty much right next to the other if you do it behind them and with a melee weapon like a shovel etc. It actually is very forgiving once you realise the limits

I am actually having a similar experience I think the main problem that the environments u travel or way to open ended they should made it linear but with more stuff to do in the environment to progress the story like in uncharted

You seem to be lacking gamers instinct or focus, I suggest raising your tolerance and try to get at least 3 hours playtime each gaming session and let me know if anything changes

It doesn't matter how long you play it, it doesn't get any better. It's literally staring at a pair of humongous hands walking...and walking...and walking...and solving easy puzzles...and walking...some meh combat...and then you walk some before you do some more walking.

Holy balls is this game boring. I'm so disappointed. HUGE fan of the movies and was so excited for this game. What a letdown. I've watched golf on TV that was more engaging.

This game is boring! puzzles are boring, steath are boring, even more is impossible to do strealth with so much men in one area... the mechanics of the game is just sh@t! i'm so slow, i can't even outrun the bad guys, sometimes AI is good, sometimes it's dumb... the dialogs are cut off sometimes, i can't hear what Gena saying sometimes.. it's just ruined game... i tryed force my self to play till Sukhothai and that's it... i can't take it anymore...

Got it free on game pass. I have tried and tried to get into it because I am a huge Indiana Jones movie fan. I own them all! With that said I could not get into this game despite really, really wanting to. I was bored to death.
