Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. Crashed, Black Screen and corrupted save files and their fixes!
Hi, like many I had multiple issues with Indiana Jones, but I somehow found a way to fix them for me and play it uninterrupted.
Here are the things that worked for me in case anyone has the same problems I did.

1.Crashes:
The game crashed for me often shortly after startup. To remedy that I had to disable all overlays including the Steam overlay and the in game fps meter.
I also had to go to ...\steamapps\common\The Great Circle and change the properties of the TheGreatCircle.exe into compatability mode for win 8 and "run as administrator".
And I had to keep every graphic setting at standard/safe mode except for resolution, Full Screen, fps-cap, FOV, dynamic res, film grain, chromatic ... and depth of field.

2.Black Screen:
After a while before I could fix the crashes reliably, I had the black screen issue after startup.
I had to delete sl.dlss.dll and sl.dlss_g.dll in ...\steamapps\common\The Great Circle\streamline.

3.corrupted save files.
I had multiple issues with this problem.

3.1 I had a black screen after startup that wasn't caused by DLSS, but a broken safe file. In order to get the game to run properly, I had to delete the remote folder in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\453221754\2677660\. So since I had to delete my safe files, I had to start again, so next time I made a backup of the remote folder every 2h.

3.2 After a few hours, where I started my game a new, I had an issue where I could launch the game but could not start it in the menu without it crashing. Rolling back didn't help either.
So I took my manual backups and overwrote the remote folder, but that didn't work. The game told my via a popup #str_dlg_corrupt_profile. So I tried a fix from someone else. They just played a new game till when they come to the statue where the bats scare one of your companions in the intro, exits the game and then rolls back. But that didn't work for me either. But what did work for me was the following.
I disabled Steam Cloud, after some hours, since I did the manual backups and didn't want interference from Steam when I manually change the remote folder. But since the manual rollback via remote folder did not work I enabled it and choose the Steam cloud files over my own. That did work! And then I took just the files my manual backup from C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\453221754\2677660\remote\GAME-SLOT0\snapshot1 and replaced those present and rolled back in game via the roll back mechanic and that did fix it for me I could continue, were I left off.

3.3 Solution:
So now I play with the Settings and changes from 1 & 2, while manually saving the remote folder and a disabled Steam Cloud, but after some time I quit the game completely and start it again, to see whether my save is intact, when it is, I enable the Steam Could, close the game, so it can backup and disable it again, so it can't backup potential corrupted save files. So now I have a working backup and manual backups from the remote folder. So I can insert snapshots to roll back to not loose to much progress, like in 3.2.

So with these measures everything works for me.
I don't know why this game has so many issues for me and some others but not for everyone, but it was quiet frustrating. I had made some time over the holidays to play uninterrupted, just to have this game bug so hard.
Usually I don't have problems, this ain't a hardware problem. My PC is completely custom water cooled and my CPU stays in the 60s while my GPU stays in the 50s, while my GPU Hotspot is in the 70s. My pc has an AMD 7700x, 32gb 6000mHz, RTX 4080 and a 2tb Samsung NVME SSD. At the moment nothing is overclocked, usually it is, but I put everything into default after the game crashed, just in case.

Things I did that did nothing for me, was reinstalling and validating the files via Steam.

Yeah none of those fixes worked for me it’s so damn frustrating. Tired of Bethesda thinking it’s ok to publish broken games because “modders will fix it” that excludes about 70% of people that play but dont mod their games, plus it takes time for mods to be written and tested only to be broken by some update to the game that fixes nothing and only makes everything worse. Get it together Bethesda… you finally published a game people like but you’re still dropping the ball on stability

I had no issues myself, but wish you the best at resolution the issue.

I would highly recommend mentioning your PC Specs and game settings, if possible. You need to isolate the issue as much as possible which greatly helps the game developers narrow down the problem.

In the nvidea app I had set the max power limit of my RTX4080 super at 70. Crashes all the time. Now I have set it to max (125). No crashes for two days now.

How can I do this bro? Tried everything to stop crashes, nothing works
I'm on an rtx4080 windows 11 drivers v566.36 and managed to get through about 20% of the game (with crashes and visual artifacts) but now cannot start the game. Black screen for a few seconds and then back to desktop. I've tried all suggestions above with no success. Very frustrating.

Update: For what it's worth, after several hours on this, what finally worked for me was deleting my local save games (they were re copied for me as I had cloud saved enabled) and running the process to self-validate the have files. I'm not sure what this did but it identified 4 local files that may have been re-downloaded, and have finally worked after that. Fyi I always need to start in safe mode
